Does anybody have experience of this? My MW thinks I will need physio and excercises after birth because my muscles have torn. I am worried about the state my stomach will be in afterwards especially as I am having a c-section and have a toddler to deal with.

It's pretty normal to have a separation I think. If it's more than 4 fingers width after birth then you may need physio to help, but mine was 3 and pilates type exercises helped bring them back together.
Avoid anything which tenses your stomach muscles-you might see them go into a sort of point, which you def want to avoid. So no sit ups! :)
