Hi guys,

I'm not usually a nervous person but am worried. I am pregnant for the first time, and, despite two small bouts of nausea and slightly tender breasts/ needing to pee more often, I have no major symptoms.

I keep reading that morning sickness is a healthy sign and consequently am worrying.
Has anyone else not really experienced any sickness at this stage?

I may of course be worrying too early and be sick as a dog soon. Just after some reassurance really :-/

Some people have it terribly, some people don't at all. It varies widely. I felt sick at 6 weeks then it got worse week 7-8.

There seems to be this idea that you dtd and then start vomiting like, week 4 - but I don't think that's most people's experience.

I'm about 5 weeks and no symptoms at all. I hope it's ok but like you I'm worried. I don't even have the sore boobs that everybody else seems to get at 9DPO.

Im 13+2 and have been sick a total of 2 times early on and hardly any symtoms throughout the weeks. Baby is doing great, everyone is different. Still time for it too come Smile

Other than enhanced smell and heavy feeling breasts at night, i had no symptoms until at least 8-9 weeks (and even then it was only occasional morning sickness) - i honestly don't think you need to worry, enjoy NOT feeling sick as it could suddenly change! :-)

Thanks everyone. I hate the fact that we've chosen not to tell anyone because I feel so alone with all of these worries.

My partner is brilliant and supportive, but I feel like I am almost irrational about it all. I guess every pregnancy is different, but for someone like me (a control freak) its hard to sit back and not know what is going on. I kinda wish I had an earlier scan, but I don't even have my booking appointment until next week!

I'm in a somewhat similar situation FirstTimer. Using LMP as a conception date, I'm 5+2, and I've only experienced tender boobs and a hint of fatigue. And I don't have a booking appt for another 4weeks! While I don't want to wish morning sickness on myself, I wouldn't mind a hint of it so I know things are progressing.

I was exactly the same. I felt no different until I was on the verge of week 8 amd then was throwing up every morning from then on.

Try not to stress and enjoy the 'not feeling like rubbish' phase whilst it lasts :)

" I hate the fact that we've chosen not to tell anyone because I feel so alone with all of these worries."

This is also very normal. Many people (most? Certainly all but 1 of my RL friends) don't like to tell people until after the 1st scan, about 10-12 weeks. Some for weeks after that! It's been that way for centuries for precisely the reasons you say- it's an anxious and uncertain time, it adds pressure and worry.

So don't worry about not telling: it's your call.

That stupid clearblue advert where she's telling people as soon as she's peed on a stick and those FB "my baby week by week from week 4" put undue pressure on to tell, IMHO.

Practically nobody I know got MS. It depends on the woman and a lack of symptoms really doesn't have anything to do with the health of the embryo. Don't worry about it - but if you can't help it, call the NHS who will tell you the same thing.

FirsttimerG · 17/02/2014 18:53

Thanks everyone - it's a big relief to know lots of other people get similar feelings / symptoms.

Feel so much more relaxed!! I've decided I going to tell my boss on Friday (7weeks) as I will need time off next week for my booking appt.

No ms for me either just a few weeks of queasyness. Boobs were very sore until about 12 weeks. Now I'm just tired. My sil was the same.

Hopelass · 17/02/2014 19:16

I also had no morning sickness, neither did my mum. Also told my boss at 6 weeks. Congratulations! Thanks

CareBearWithFangs · 17/02/2014 19:19

I was worrying about this today. 5 + 2 weeks today and no real sickness yet. I rang my mum and she said my auntie had 6 babies and never once experienced morning sickness. Try not to worry too much.
