Just seen the apple bite Smirnoff advert and being 35 weeks tomorrow I've been alcohol free since day one of knowing but thanks to the tv I could murder an ice cold vodka and coke! Along with pate, and a baileys Grin

That is all!

I had a shot of Bailey's in my coffee at Christmas, it was lovely. But alcohol free Weißbier (Erdinger is best) does the trick for me. Or if you want it cocktaily, go for a Colaweizen (Weißbier & Coke)!

7weeks here and I want a medium steak, pink roast beef, poached egg, pink fizz, I missed birthday cocktails as I got my ivf BFP the day before!

And a hot bubble bath!

Innogen · 16/02/2014 13:46

I'd have the drink.

MrsM2013 · 16/02/2014 13:47

All I want is a Sudafed tablet and some ibuprofen :(

BEEwitched · 16/02/2014 13:49

Have to say, I'd have the poached egg and medium steak, and there's nothing wrong with hot bubble baths as long as the temperature of the water stays around 38 degrees - I have one at least 3 times a week! Couldn't live without it at the moment.

KnickersOnOnesHead · 16/02/2014 14:16

Everything in moderation. I had a glass on champers Friday evening and I am 38 weeks. I've had red hot baths, runny eggs, pink roast beef etc etc.

Legalbaby79 · 16/02/2014 17:43

All I want is a glass of red wine .... Followed by glass of champagne .....

Bunnygirlie · 16/02/2014 20:43

I had a bath!!! Whoop whoop! Lol

MummyLuce · 16/02/2014 21:03

?? I can't believe how many people dont drink at all when preg! This weekend alone I've had rare cote de boeuf, a couple of drinks, runny poached eggs, 3 v hot baths... Anything to get me through the yuckness of pregnancy! None of them will do any harm at all IMO.

My mum says she's going to sneak a bottle of wine into hospital in a lemonade bottle after I give birth! WineWineWineWine

BEEwitched · 16/02/2014 21:57

The only reason I've avoided alcohol completely is because I honestly don't feel well after I've drunk a glass of wine atm. I have been gagging for a glass of cava for weeks now but know I'd not be able to enjoy it, so there's no point!

Still have a bottle of Buck's Fizz in the fridge, though, I'm looking forward to a glass of that soon, it's so diluted I feel fine drinking it.

squizita · 17/02/2014 09:18

I'm the same as BEEwitched, it makes me gag, too strong a 'mouth feel'/smeel - also being 'high risk' could do without the nagging from know-betters.

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 17/02/2014 10:34

I have a glass a few times a week when I fancy it, which my consultant told me is preferable to fixating on what I can't have. However, if you're really determined not to drink, friends have told me that a glass of tonic water with lots of lime can sometimes do the trick?

BEEwitched · 17/02/2014 11:41

Hmm, but isn't tonic water on the 'banned list' because of the quinine? Probably completely harmless if you only have it every couple of weeks, though!

MinesAPintOfTea · 17/02/2014 11:47

It tells you something about the power of TV advertising doesn't it? Maybe think about that when you're craving something you wouldn't have thought of without the TV.

squizita · 17/02/2014 11:51

Tonic water is fine - NHS say there's so little quinnine unless you drink gallons it's ok.

EssexGirlLottie · 17/02/2014 17:19

I was totally dry for my first trimester but have allowed myself 1-2 units a week now i'm in my second. However - not sure if this is a good or a bad thing - when I did have a tiny glass of champers or the occasional beer I actually felt rubbish for it. It seems to dehydrate me really quickly. So i might not bother for the rest of my pg.

eurochick · 17/02/2014 17:28

I'm just coming to the end of the first tri and plan to have the odd glass once the last of the nausea has gone.

squizita · 17/02/2014 18:03

Weirdly I just had a crave for a sip of real ale!

LePetitPont · 23/02/2014 10:14

Tried out the tonic water and lots of ice trick last night - worked a treat. I had Morrisons extra special dry spiced tonic with cucumber and cherry tomato in. Pretty close to a posh G&T - hurrah!

MummyPig24 · 23/02/2014 12:32

37 weeks now and I had half a small bottle of beer last night. We don't often have alcohol in the house but dh got some beers for his birthday last week and it smelled so good when he opened it. So I had half. It's not going to harm me or baby at this stage.
