Although this is pregnancy number 2, pregnancy number 1 was six years ago and I can't remember.

i was exactly the same due to having ahigh anerior placenta it acts like a cushion

has been a pain in ass to be honest ca go hours without feelinga nything

Elibean · 06/08/2006 13:38

Yep, me too - anterior placenta. I felt distinct lurches at 19 weeks with dd1, this time it started around same time but much much lighter sensation. At 22 weeks now I can feel her well, but my placenta (unfortunately) is very low down - if yours IS anterior and higher, it will act as booby says.

I rather liked the '2 weeks' title, myself

Thank god I'm not 2 weeks preggers, I have had enough of this one. I don't know about my placenta. I am having another scan on Thursday as baby wasn't in a good posistion for the last one, so will ask.

I never felt movement until more like 24 weeks (in 2 pregnancies). I wish they wouldn't write that in the baby books. Just makes you worry when you haven't felt them by the time the books says you should.

It's true, those baby books have a lot to answer for. I haven't read one thing this time.

Hi Lucy,

Am now 25 weeks with my first and am only now feeling regular movement and this only started about a week ago.

Agree with Uwila - I wish they didn't write in the books that you "should" feel them between 16 - 20 weeks. It just made me really worried until I started asking people I know with kids. Even the sonographer at my 20 week scan said it wouldn't be until about 23 / 24 weeks...

HTH

yes, agree that the books have a lot to answer for. I didn't feel movements properly until about 24 weeks I think - I remember it moving on the scan pic but couldn't feel a thing!

I did not get proper movement with my second pregnancy until 26 weeks.
