Adjustment to due date?

Hi! I'm 10 + 3 according to LMP which means I have a due date of 8 Sept. However, I have got quite long cycles (when not PG), I worked out today the average over the previous 6 months was 34 days. Does this mean my edd is likely to be put back at the dating scan? Did anyone not have their dates changed who had long cycles? Thanks!

Before my first pregnancy I had a clockwork 32 day cycle. I expected to be put back and wasn't. Delivered at 40+3 in the end so EDD was about right.

After pregnancy I had a clockwork 28 day cycle so was surprised to be put back this time.

I guess I am saying you are wise to consider the possibility but from my experience cycle length isn't the key factor here.

I have similar length cycles and in first pg my edd went back by a week at the scan. In fact I had to go back again because I wasn't quite in the right dates for the nuchal measurements.

In the end ds was over a week early so nearly at the first edd.

Now pg with dc2 and I expect I'll be changed again despite trying to tell the gp about my long cycles. Nhs website has a tool that lets you change cycle length to work out edd from lmp

Lots of people have their dates changed, even with a 28 day cycle. Because one woman could ovulate on day 10 and one on day 17 and both get pregnant but have babies a due a week apart.

The lmp is just a guide to care before the dating scan gives a more accurate date. And realistically, a normal pregnancy is between 37 and 42 weeks and you can't predict where they'll come in that window. I know when I ovulated and mine arrived at 37 and 38 weeks respectively.

So I guess in short, some people have their dates changed and due dates aren't accurate anyway, not in real terms.
