Bump feels numb???? **Mears around?**

Hi, I have had a very bad week with this pregnancy - (36 weeks) - all sorts of annoying symptoms like some clear leaking down below and feeling faint etc - which improves if I eat.

I dont know if this is all related but the skin on my bump feels numb sort of - sort of feels like scar tissue feels if that makes sense. I can feel it but not normally and its uncomfortable to touch. Have had hyperemesis, VERY slightly raised BP and swelling so far in this pregnancy if any of that is relevant. Just wondered if numb skin was normal or not.

Am not very comfortable with just calling a MW as I see a different one each time and sort of feel like I have to justify taking up their time.

Thanks!

I know tell me about it

Listen you should go and get checked missus! if you not feeling "right" and are leaking something, you should go down to maternity unit and get a full check over.

How you feeling now? Do you still feel faint etc?

X

I wouldn't leave it till Weds tbh, get Sal and go and get checked tonight if you can, even if it is just to put your mind at ease that everything is ok.

pucca · 06/08/2006 00:41

Keep remember things to say doh! lol

Mears was around before as she posted on my thread not long ago, don't know if she still here though.

eenywifemum · 06/08/2006 00:41

I stopped feeling faint earlier when I ate something so just thought maybe my blood test I'm getting on Wed would show something. I just dont feel right. It's been one thing after another this week and I just dont feel right. Its hard to put my finger on, I have lots of little symptoms that dont add up. The leaking isnt LOADS but it is constant. Am talking to Sal now about whether or not I should go in tonight or maybe tomorrow a.m.

I say phone up now, and go in tonight, it not worth the risk of leaving it, tell them EVERYTHING that has been happening...like i said even if it puts your mind at ease so you can relax a little, but if you are feeling "funny" and with everything else...i say go and get yourself checked out. xx

right. ok - I will eat my pudding I just made and think about it while I do and then make a decision! I hate this!! Pregnancy involves too many decisions to be made! Will let you know what I end up doing.

meant to say as well thanks Pucca for helping me out with this. We are looking the numbness thing up in the Birth and Beyond book now to see if we can find anything.

I have decided to call the MW now and ask them about my symptoms and see if I can arrange to come in tomorrow am UNLESS they think I should come in now in which case I will do.

Spoke to a lovely MW who did not think I needed to be seen as it did not sound like waters leaking (stronger flow - about a pint a day if it were waters in her opinion)

But she did think it sounded like a show!

Trying not to get my hopes up - is there any way of knowing whether or not you have had a show?

eeny, i got the numb bump thing for most of both my pregnancies, it's just the nerves in the skin having to cover a much larger surface area (i think!) don't let it worry you, definitely go get your iron and blood suger checked though.

as for it being a show, mine were quite thick jelly and came out in lumps (blood streaked lumps in dd's case) don't know if that helps but thought i'd mention it.

hope you make it to friday babe, will thye still let you have the waterbirth if your 36+a few days?
