I know your suppose to do a test near your monthly cycle but I don't really have periods due to me weight.

So when is the best time to take a pregnancy test not based on your cycle?

I would say in which case I'd do a first test about 2 weeks after you first started having unprotected sex, and then weekly thereafter. However, you need to be aware that if you are not having periods then there is a good chance that you are also not ovulating, so I would bear this in mind and seek medical advice personally, before putting yourself (potentially) through months of frustrating TTC.

Best of luck.
