Hi, I have just found out I am pregnant and am really worried about the due date - I just fall into my employers payment calculation right now with my date. I have heard of scans changing the date and if the date moves even slightly earlier I will lose out on my maternity pay - do you have to take any dates changes they say from a scan or can you say you want to stick with the date you know from you calculations?

If its just days I think the nice hosp staff would use your due date if you explained the situation, wouldn't they?

that's what I am hoping, I suppose I really just have to wait on the scan. don't know why I am paranoid anyway, when I calculated the dates I just got worried.

Usually they will go with the scan date if it's quite a bit off from the calculations of your lmp.

If it's only a day or 2 then they may just keep the date you have. You are better speaking to the mw following the scan. Thing is the dates thats important is the date you have on the matb1 certificate which is usually given out at around 20 ish weeks and theres no getting around this date.
