Recommendations for big black pants!

I did a trip to Primani today and bought two packs of their black full briefs for my hospital bag only to find out that they are too big and if I wear them I doubt they'd hold a maternity pad in place! Annoyingly their sizes go 10-12 and then 14-16 whereas I'm probably a 12-14. Should I just go for M&S or are there any other cheapie brands worth getting? Seems a waste to spend too much on pants that I'll just be chucking away.

My recommendation would be to buy mens briefs. They have very good elastic in the legs and the erm...tackle space is ideal for house brick sized San pro.
I stole DPs and found them very comfortable and secure feeling.

I was gonna say Primark upon reading your thread title, so nope. No others.

SaucyJack · 10/02/2014 22:48

Are they too big at the moment by the way, or for what you're anticipating you'll need after birth?

The uterus takes a good few days to shrink back down anyway- so you'll still have a bit of a bump for a while after.

Cariad007 · 10/02/2014 22:57

Too big at the moment unfortunately. They fit ok around the bump but are loose around the legs, which is where they need to be smugger to hold a pad in place I guess.

My OH wears Ninja Turtle boxers.......

mel0dy · 10/02/2014 23:22

I like the idea of mens' knickers! I like wearing boxers under frocks in the summer anyway!

LavenderFox · 11/02/2014 07:32

This is the first time I have heard about using men's pants! I shall make sure to mention it in my NHS antenatal classes in front of all the blokes....

Think I got mine in tesco? But they were white, if the colour matters

Northernmonkeys · 11/02/2014 07:36

I got mine from sainsburys. Have lasted well.hth

McBaby · 11/02/2014 07:50

Tesco ones for me

Pinkbell123 · 11/02/2014 08:47

I'm the same size as you and I went for the 16-18 primark ones. I figured that with a couple of maternity pads in there I'd be glad of the extra room

hubbahubster · 11/02/2014 09:22

I'm the same size as you and used the 14-16 full Primarni briefs. They were fine. The maternity pads are so thick, you'll probably find they fill the pants out (urgh).

I had a CS too and found they were ace over my tummy.

Dusty04 · 11/02/2014 09:24

Got mine from asda. Pre pregnancy I was a size 10 and didn't put that much weight in and bought size 14s. Really comfy and cheap

YoshimiB · 11/02/2014 09:49

I've just bought multi pack M&S black big pants as i have been having bladder control probs that i really hope go when my cough does. They aren't brilliant at holding pads - not fantastic cotton quality.

However, after having DS I was wearing skirts/dresses with tights or leggings mainly which held everything (pants/pads/wobbly tummy) neatly in place so quality of pants didnt matter too much. I didnt feel comfortable in jeans with maternity pads.

Writerwannabe83 · 11/02/2014 11:58

That's a genius idea about wearing men's boxers!!!! I imagine they'd be far better at keeping maternity pads in place!!

FobblyWoof · 11/02/2014 12:19

Tesco's high waist briefs, definitely Smile

neversleepagain · 11/02/2014 12:21

I got lovely comfy ones in M&S.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 11/02/2014 14:05

not mens boxers, mens briefs. Smile

Cariad007 · 11/02/2014 15:07

LOL, imagine the mess if you tried using a maternity pad with men's boxers!!
