Are Digital Tests more senstive than 'regular' ones

So I've used 2 of the ClearBlueEasy digital HPTs, which came back positive and said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant. But I've also used about 3 of the more normal pee-on-a-stick types, and they came back negative. So now I'm questioning if I'm really preggo or not. Does this sound normal? Am I still too early for the normal ones to pick up the hormones? I'm wondering if I should go into the GP and do a test?

Gosh that's really weird! Normally the digis are less sensitive but it does depend on what brand the 'normal' tests are. Have you missed a period?

I have only ever done one pregnancy test, it was a cb digital and was right.
I'm probably not the best person to advise you on differences in the two types however my gp said you can't get a false positive but you can get a false negative, so I think congrats are in order :)

I would book in an appointment with your GP. To be showing as 2-3 on a blue digital, I would expect you to come back positive on most other brands?

But to answer your question, yes I have found them to be the most sensitive, I had one pick up my BFP at 8dpo.....

I am sure you will get a positive from your GP, and will ease your mind.

Ask your GP for a blood test?

If clear blue digital says positive then you do indeed have a positive pregnant test. Like another poster said, I am surprised you got a neg on other brands but this isn't cause for worry.

No need to go to your GP - just retest in 48 hours if you're worried

Well, I technically have not had a period since 30 Nov. I found out I was pregnant on Jan. 2nd (approx. 3-4weeks), but on 5 Jan. I had a miscarriage. I'm pretty sure I ovulated around 20/21 Jan as I had some tell-tale discomfort in the groin region which I've had in the past in the middle of my cycle. And since the 21st was my OHs birthday, we obviously celebrated.

I did go to the GP surgery and get a specimen cup, which I plan on taking in tomorrow for a urine test. I'm just getting anxious wondering if I really am or not.

So sorry for your loss bluegrass. I had a mc a week ago and have just had it confirmed by a scan today.

The advice I was given was if I didn't have a bleed 6 weeks from the day the bleeding stopped then to do a pregnancy test. If I had a bleed before 6 weeks then this was my menstrual cycle.

The GP would probably just use the same pee on stick, for a blood test there needs to be a bigger reason such as threatened ectopic pregnancy.

The digital tests are not more accurate, they just have a digital display stuck to them and an extortionate cost toboot. Many posters have found the Poundshop and the like cheap test where you get 2 or 3 for a pound more sensitive actually.

I used First Vue tests which you can buy cheaply from Asda or Wilkos.

It's tough because you could still be testing positive due to the MC. I tested positive for weeks after my first loss.

Only way to tell in this instance is go to the docs, I think.

I'm not sure the earlier MC is still showing up as a BFP though, because a couple of days after the bleeding ended in early Jan I took a test and got a negative. I've dropped off my urine sample this morning, but they won't have the results until Thursday, so more waiting.
