Consultant Questions

Due to see the consultant tomorrow but i have no clue what if anything i should be asking
Last time i saw her she basically said she couldn't see from my notes why i had been sent to her and i was fine (turns out i have to see the anesthetist)
If anyone has any experience with this and can suggest some questions i need to be asking i would be very grateful

Im 32 measuring 39 then 35 (measured twice in the same day 3/4 hours apart)
Midwife said the excess felt like it was a lot of water and booked me in to see the consultant
I have no history of diabetes in my blood related family
BMI is high think about 30/31 and I'm Asthmatic if that makes a difference

Ive had basically no info from the midwife on this and have no idea what i should have asked her
Stupidly goggled it afterwards to try and get some information and managed to scare myself now have family saying don't worry about it . . . .

Also if anyone knows the likelihood of scans tomorrow or blood tests could you let me know or will it all be touchey feely

Iv seen a consultnt throughout my pregnancy as high bmi too but its never been anymore than what mw doesat her appointments. I usually see them after a scan and they said i wld need to see anesthetist too bit so far no appt booked. I understood this was to ensure they cld get an epidural in if needed!? Which i thought was odd as i didnt feel my back was any different to anyone elses!? But it wasnt clear why they wanted to do this and being overwhelmed at the time i didnt think to ask much more. Iv had extra scans along the way too. Last scan tho they said all was ok and cancelled th following scan so hopefully my final consultant appt will be this thurs. I wld try not to worry too much altho i am surprised ur mw didnt tell u why u were referred but i do know people with bmi over a certain level get referred.

My consultant seems confused too... I was referred cos of gallstones but she keeps saying it's cos of growth... Now I have low lying placenta... Who knows lol? Usually appointment takes about an hour for me... Scan first, then midwife, then consultant for about ten mins who reads notes, asks loadsa questions and listens to heartbeat. If you're ever unsure between appointments, just ring your midwife and ask, that's what they're there for!

Oh also my first appointment, there were 4 of them in the room which I found a bit odd... Consultant, trainee doc, midwife and trainee midwife! I should have asked why they were all there or someone should have mentioned it. Second time was consultant and a midwife!

Oh i had the blood tests the last time from the midwife but they were the routine 28 week or whatever ones! She said there would be no more routine ones. That's one question you could ask the consultant... Or ask an open ended question like what should you be looking out for, what are signs to worry about, is it likely you will have a normal birth or would it be early induction, is there anything you can do to make things better. I dunno, what concerns do you have?
