Just had my 38 week appt this morn (am 37+5)

She's made my next appt for the FIFTH of MARCH!!!!!!!!

Luckily I didn't have anything coming up in the next two weeks which might require the expertise of a MW. Oh no wait....... Wink

Anybody else had this?

Erm no. Think appointments go weekly by wk 38.

So your next appointment is 41 weeks? Is it your first pregnancy? Just looked at my notes and my area officially has 38, 40 and 41 for first timers and 38 and 41 for second and subsequent. However, my mw books everyone in at 40 too.

It's my third, so it's in line with that I guess Penguin

I really just don't get the point in decreasing appointments at the one time you might actually want to see a MW. Madness.

I suppose the thinking is that, if you have an issue at this point, you go straight to hospital to be checked out because they might decide to induce/deliver the baby? It does seem odd though.

If it's not your first pregnancy then you don't get a 40 week appointment, it goes 38 then 41.

So should I assume she'll be wanting to stick her fingers up my flange next time I see her?

I've not had any info about bringing on labour yet.

Yeah, probably. I'm saying no to that time if (though realistically, when ) I get that far.
