Is show always bloody? (TMI)

I had been having what I though was just inc vaginal discharge for the last few day. It was very creamy clear but quite a lot and was thick and sticky. Haven't had anymore since yesterday. Just occurred to me that it might have been the plug but it had no tinge to it at all. Could this be my plug coming away. I am 37 weeks with my first so could just be wishful thinking.

I can only let you know what my show was like having my dd. It was so bloody I thought I was bleeding and went in to the hospital for then to give me the once over! They confirmed it was a show!
I'm 32 weeks with twins at the mo and have been having some clotty stringy clearish discharg efor a couple of days now, so really in the same boat as you this time around. Its a waiting game!!

Mine looked just like a big lump of green snot with a couple if brown streaks.

Everywhere that I see it described has some sort of colour to it but mine was completely clear mucousy type with no tinge what so ever. I guess it wasn't show then.

I lost my mucus plug at 30 weeks, it was clear, no blood. I'm now 36+3 and still going.

They regenerate. However, I think if it's blood-stained, it could be a sign labour isn't far off.

Well I thought I was loosing mine in weeks leading up to birth. Snotty, clear jelly coming away and then I went into labour and lost a golf ball sized piece of jelly followed by a lot of blood so I would agree with OP who says it is often bloody if labour is imminent / has started.

iv lost bits of clear jelly like stuff (gross!) & the odd bit of blood tinged discharge no bloody baby yet though

I have been having cramping pains since the morning but they are not increasing in intensity. I had let my hopes built up very slightly but seems like everything can vary. Had a very tiny bit of pinkish discharge too but that has stopped now. Babies in my family generally come very late and have to be evicted by force (induction). How many weeks are you IloveKitty ?

Totally snot like with no tinges of colour for me.

I lost a load of brown discharge on Wednesday but no sign of baby yet.

im 40+4 (by scan; i know im really 40+1 though) and this was after 2 sweeps. getting induced tomorrow

Mine was clear. I was obviously in labour, though. DD was born within the hour! (3 very short labours, only saw one show)

I am now having pinkish discharge everytime I wipe and pains too since the morning. They are still coming and going and haven't increased in intensity. I think something may be afoot. Or it may be nothing. So frustrating.

Feeling so annoyed at DP. Pains in my back are getting stronger. He has helpfully pointed out that I should stop breathing so loudly as it's not like I am having a heart attack.
Have gone to the spare room. Seriously considering my choice of birth partner.
Called labour ward and they said it seems like things are starting and to keep an eye on it.

37 weeks is pretty good (I've never got that far )

I'm going to disclaimer this with we're talking about a show, it's not fluffy and there's no fluffy way to talk about it.

A show is often described as being like someone blew their nose on the tissue, and I think that's a pretty accurate way of describing it both in what it looks like and colour. If you think about snot it's not always green, sometimes it's clear and it can be anything to green and bloody. Instead of trying to fix a description, just ask yourself if it looks like someone blew their nose.

Does sound like things are moving for you though, probably best you sleep on your own anyway because you need to get as much rest as possible in before you go properly into labour.

Definitely like someone blew their nose. Am trying to sleep but the pains are keeping me awake. They are coming every 10-15 min or so. Feeling quite nauseous too

On the gym ball now. Nothing is helping much. Does anyone have any strategies to deal with this?

Try and sleep between, I found I could zonk and it felt like ages between. I find sitting on the toilet can help, you relax your muscles better and there's no pressure underneath. Hot bath, just keep topping up as required (I've done 4 hours in a bath to help contractions! It goes fast and easier to doze between)

I was pretty sick too - it's the intensity of the pain when it's your first, I think. Only vomited right at the end of stage one with number two.

Being prone while contracting generally meant projectile vomiting, so keep upright and bouncing. That's what helped me. I felt cold and shivery so keep snuggly. Get a hot water bottle for holding on the bottom of your bump. Get your partner to rub your lower back during contractions. Drink plenty of water. And do try to do loud, long breaths during your contractions, in through the nose out through the mouth. Focus on the sound of the air and try not to consciously think about the fact you are in pain.

Man, I hated stage one. Stage two was so much nicer for me - hope you have the same experience! Best wishes.

Just up feeding and saw this. Focus on your breathing. Really helps with pain focus on pushing out all the air in your lungs on a slow five count then you'll automatically inhale a big amount of oxygen which numbs the pain. Plus focusing on the outbreath takes your mind off everything.
