Only gestational sac seen at ?6w 1d

Hi ladies

I'm new here and looking for advice or positive outcomes to help me through this tough time. I went to epu last weekend after right sided groin pain, ectopic was ruled out but all she could see was a sac measuring 6 weeks. All she said was 6 weeks is a weird time and come back in 2 weeks. I'm devastated and signed off from work sick because I'm trying to deal with a possible failed pregnancy. My dates can't be off as was only with my husband for 1 week over new year as he is abroad. Can anyone help me pls :(

OP I had early scans with both my girls - the first was an IVF pregnancy. Those few extra days you have waited may make all the difference - I saw DD1's heartbeat at 6w6d and DD2 's at 7w1d. And that was at a clinic where they have really good machines and do the very early scans all the time. I don't think they'd have seen me at 6w1d.

I had an internal scan after spotting at 7 + 3 and saw the little flickering heart beat. It's hard to make out anything that looks like a baby, more like a little bean, but the heartbeat was clear.

I'm going for a second scan today after more spotting, at 11 + 6, and hoping to see more. Best of luck.

Good news :) after problem with original place I was going for scan I paid for another one at another company and seen my peanut. I'm measuring a little behind what I should be (which is my next worry) however I seen the heartbeat and what resembles a blob lol. Thankyou for all your kind messages there are no words to explain how I feel just now. Does the worry ever stop?? :)

That is great news! A heartbeat is a positive, measuring behind at an early stage is not a big worry. With my current pregnancy I was measuring 6 days behind 10 days ago, now measuring 3 days behind. I fully expect in another couple of weeks (all being well) that I will be measuring to dates or ahead as ovulated early.

Anyway enjoy the thoughts of seeing your little one in place with a heart beating away!

Dates will differ as you can never pinopoint exactly when you ovulated. It's a good guestimate at best. I wouldn't worry about it too much :) congratulations!
