will my skinny maternity jeans be ok over my bump. they're not tight so as to be uncomfortable but baby seems to be kicking the hell out of the stretchy band at the front? there must be a pressure on the baby I guess but am I squashing her???? can't believe I'm posting this. thank god for mumsnet... stuff you'd never say out loud to anyone else! ha! :-)

if they're not uncomfortable for you id assume they're ok for baby?

Chopsypie · 01/02/2014 07:33

I think you'll be fine. Baby is very well protected in there, and unless you clothes are made of wire, there is no chance of your clothing hurting him/her

Beanymonster · 01/02/2014 07:45

I always went with the theory if your comfortable then so are they, they have a lot between them and you mainly do mini chocolate muffins in my case to protect them, deep breath! And remember there's no stupid questions in pregnancy!

MrsRV · 01/02/2014 08:10

ok, thanks ladies. They aren't overly comfortable but comfortable enough to wear at 26 weeks... they feel quite firm around my bump but I just can't face wearing tights /leggings the WHOLE time!!!

You won't be squashing her but you might feel more comfortable if you size up. H

KiwiBanana · 01/02/2014 08:29

Oops posted too soon! You've still got a while to go and you're only going to get bigger. If they're not that comfortable now then they won't become any more comfortable. Have a look on eBay, always loads of jeans going cheap.

MrsRV · 01/02/2014 10:33

I did think this morning that I might have to go up a size soon. only cheapy matalan ones so won't break the bank I'm sure :-)

I noticed in previous pregnancies my dd's seemed to get territorial (totally in my head I know). Dd2 especially would kick against dh if we were cuddling and if I tried balancing a book or something on my bump they'd both go crazy.
I don't know what it is but it can't be bad as these were not significant amounts of pressure- could just be interest?

MrsVDB · 01/02/2014 12:36

My skinny jeans started getting uncomfortable on the band about same time as you so bought next size up but they just look baggy and unflattering so I've been in leggings ever since I'm afraid

alicebear · 01/02/2014 13:55

Why not get some maternity skinny jeans? Or are you in those already?
Keeps all the skinny bits skinny but you can get over or under bump style to allow for expansion where needed. Loads on eBay or next /asos /dp /gap etc

Shellywelly1973 · 01/02/2014 16:55

Oh i wish i could fit in my maternity jeans! Haven't worn them since 32 weeks due to swollen legs...:-(

Irishmammybread · 01/02/2014 18:21

I'm 28 weeks and have started to find my skinny over the bump maternity jeans a bit uncomfortable, they dig in and the elasticated top leaves an indentation on the bump.I find if I wear the soft section at the front under the bump they still stay up and are much comfier!
