Ive had braxton hicks on and off for about 3 to 4 weeks.
Last night i have niggling pains with back ache.
Today ive had pretty much the same and since 3pm (its now 19:25) ive been getting harsh period type pains. A bit like braxton hicks but slightly harsher. They're coming and going every 6 mins to 16 mins.

This is my 2nd pregnancy, and its been different from my first.

Im not sure if im just wishing its the start or it is. All I do know is that im ready, im fed up, and todays pains have been constant but sporadic since this afternoon.

How are you feeling now?

Frizz1986 · 31/01/2014 22:55

Hi, this is what i felt like. I had been having braxton hicks on and off from 32 weeks or so and at dead on 37 weeks i started getting them constantly. They were just uncomfortable and didnt get any worse for 3 days and werent in a regular pattern (anywhere from 3 to 8 mins apart) After 3 days i wondered if it was the start but my birth unit said not to come in unless my waters had gone or they got really bad.
Then overnight on day 3 they got much worse and started from my bum and went round to the front and onto my bump (i had to breathe through them and walk around the bedroom). I didnt sleep at all but they were still irratic every 3-10 mins apart.
At 9am on day 4 my waters went and then the contractions really kicked off and i knew we were on our way. At 10:49am out popped my gorgeous daughter!

Fingers crossed this is the start for you!

KatieChooChoo · 01/02/2014 15:15

all through the night i was getting the consistent but sporadic pains that only eased off mid morning and thats when the lower back pain started.
My last pregnancy started off like yesterday and only took 24 hours, my waters didnt go till 15 mins before my son popped out... Because my last labour was text book quick i honestly thought id be holding my new baby now :-(

Katie I could have written your post Shock exactly the same scenario here. Not helped by the fact dc1 was born at 38+2 with a text book labour / birth.

Hating the 2nd guessing and uncertainty this time around. As only 38 weeks could have a few more weeks of this too Hmm I could have sworn yesterday was "the day" but amounted to nothing.

KatieChooChoo · 02/02/2014 12:56

How are you doing MrsJK? Any movement?
No change here :-(

Any change this morning Katie?

MrsJK · 03/02/2014 14:00

Nothing from me :( Feeling more and more miserable.

My DC1 was born today at 38 + 2 so was hopeful of another early arrival this time.

Katie - how are you doing? Any helpful pro tips much appreciated :)

KatieChooChoo · 03/02/2014 16:07

After an eventful weekend of sporadic contractions, lower back ache and a lot of heavy pressure below..... NOTHING :-(

Ive seen a consultant this morning re a home birth. I told him about the weekend and he thinks it could be anytime - which is obvious considering you're given 2 weeks either side of your due date.

MrdJK have you had any signs that its kick off is close?

Easycomp, thanks for your interest. Its nice knowing you're not alone in these matters.

Ive just had some brownish discharge.... apologies for the graphic details but its a positive sign isnt it?????
No contracts tho, or back ache, just heavy pressure below that comes and go which I cant even say hurts.

Could be the show? I dunno but any sign things are happening is surely good!

Good Luck both of you!

keeping an eye on this thread Smile

MrsJK · 03/02/2014 17:20

Thats very very good news Katie! I am actually jealous of your discharge ha.

Had very similar all weekend - in particular lots of pressure and twinges but amounted to nothing. Honestly thought Friday night was THE night but nope I am still here.

Have you done anything strenuous today to get things going perhaps? Wishing you lots of vibes tonight :)

KatieChooChoo · 03/02/2014 23:47

MrsJK that made me laugh out loud for real.
No need to be jealous, theres nothing happening ..... again! Other than a bit of pressure.

Thanks Moobaloo. Loving the user name. Was you inspired by the waybuloos by any chance?
