I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Cross posted!

livingzuid well done on your trip to Amsterdam and the interview!! It really is incredible what you can get yourself to do sometimes. The resting sounds sensible... as does some tonic water a la chaffinch :-) Take good care.

livingzuid · 04/03/2014 12:56

Oh and I have the best dh. Set up Netflix in the bedroom and froze me loads of ice so I'm watching copious amounts of say yes to the dress and secretly hoping we can have a wedding wedding one day so I can buy a fab dress!

PunkStar · 04/03/2014 12:56

Living
At least it's done!
Take it easy now, get yourself rested for next week. In a way it's good it's not the right role, would be more frustrating if you really wanted the job but too poorly to take it.

PunkStar · 04/03/2014 12:59

Hehe I'm watching the last few episodes of Breaking Bad from luxury of bed :-)
You know, I have no urge to get married. Maybe we've been together too long (11years) it's like we've forgotten marriage even exists!

livingzuid · 04/03/2014 13:04

Thanks ladies :) and punk I forgot you have work next week, am sure it will go well!

livingzuid · 04/03/2014 13:07

X posted doh :) I know what you mean, it's not important is it. We just wanted to be married but went and did it at the Town Hall just the two of us. But now I want a posh frock! I had the whole bug poufy dress wedding thing with first husband and it was the opposite of what I wanted. It would be just me and dh probably somewhere on the beach with our little girl in a matching dress :) actually I just want the dress and that's it Grin

Dh loved breaking bad he said the last few episodes were fab.

livingzuid · 04/03/2014 13:08

Big not bug my autocorrect sucks

starrynight123 · 04/03/2014 16:02

Ah, a wedding on a beach... that sounds wonderful... warmth, beautiful sea and sand. And, of course, a gorgeous dress. Heaven!

Love breaking bad - felt bereft when it finished.

PunkStar · 04/03/2014 17:36

Thing is I love weddings! One Summer we had eleven weddings, was brilliant but rather expensive!

Three episodes left of Breaking Bad left, then have some Walking Dead to catch up on. Love a zombie apocalypse.

My bro got married in Florida, their three daughters were bridesmaids. Was lovely and quite stress free for them, they only announced they were getting married on the flight over!

elizabethsmum · 04/03/2014 17:44

Sorry just a quick post... mrsb - will the bank look at you going onto an interest only mortgage temporarily? ? Just wondering if that would have less of an effect on credit rating? Sorry am wracking brains for any other ideas? What about citizens advice?? There is a website called entitled to but that is mainly to do with benefits which I guess you have already explored? Will be back later...

ChaffinchOfDoom · 04/03/2014 20:08

hey hey all. Meerka have you packed your bag? got most stuff ready in mine;
has everyone picked their pram/buggy yet? I actually chose one hoorah.

elizabethsmum · 04/03/2014 20:36

meerkafab news that you are now on the countdown!!
punkstarloving the box set watching- what have you got lined up next? Much better than becoming addicted to trashy tv -I became addicted to dog the bounty hunter during sick leave---
Which bag have you gone for chaffinch? So exciting to be at the bag packing stage:))

elizabethsmum · 04/03/2014 20:38

Blush not exactly my normal viewing to watch trashy families of bounty hunters but strangely addictive!!

Meerka · 04/03/2014 20:44

oh that's organised ! no, I havent, just started making the lists today. Have you got a birth plan? which buggy did you go for? :) we have found a tank of a thing but it was really good value on the local version of ebay.

We actually still have builders around and I need to strip a door and lay a new floor before the baby comes, something of a tall order atm seeing as some days i can't do anything and other days only a couple hours' activity. Our older son is moving out of his room into the new room but it's been in a terrible state for some years now. It won't matter tho if we don't get it done before the birth I guess, the baby will sleep in our room. Sawing the wood and crawling over the floor isn't easy at the moment. At least friends are helping with the painting =) And everythign will be easier after the birth, sleeplessness is not that big a deal compared to HG

ChaffinchOfDoom · 04/03/2014 21:08

we had both our other dc in our room for about 5 months, co-slept whenever needed as ds memorably bf for 20 mins every 1.5hrs, day and night; like a little clock he was & I was bothered about him disturbing dd

went for a travel system, got it on here was a good buy, a babystyle TS2.
it's all built into the pram Grin

ChaffinchOfDoom · 04/03/2014 21:16

Elizabethsmum LOL - an ordinary scruffy grey suitcase, medium sizedy-type thingie

not taking any wonderful baby clothes as I was reading they can get nicked Shock

I recommend hospital stayers to invest in a pair of cheap rubber flipflops to wear in the shower... washing your feet ontop of other people's messy bloody bleeding drips is beyond vile! forget slippers...just take flipflops and maybe bedsocks Grin

elizabethsmum · 04/03/2014 21:21

Lol chaffinch I misread that as bag!- was seriously impressed! I would definitely second flip flops for shower!! Also own towel for shower as hospital ones a bit minimal IMO! A hoody as it can get cold at night in hosp, another top tip is putting 1st babygro, nappy and vest in a little carrier bag at the top of your bag so that your DH is not emptying entire contents of bag looking for it in a blind panic ;)

ChaffinchOfDoom · 04/03/2014 21:38

Ive got a wrap cardi poncho thing to wear if cold, will bf under it.
have nicked the near empty showergel to take with me; rather than lose a full bottle as I did last time Hmm
there are lightfingered gits all over the hospitals... someone even nicked my glasses last time!

elizabethsmum · 04/03/2014 21:54

When I was in after having the twins the partner of the woman in next bed to me (debatable whether he was her baby's father but that is another story on her mobile all hours whole ward could hear her business) was a known prolific thief- I got dh to take my purse home and only kept minimal money with me...Shock

Meerka · 05/03/2014 07:09

oh good grief, they nicked your glasses? that's pretty bad, who on earth can use someone else's glasses?

and brrrr at being next to a known prolific thief :s

hope everyone isn't too bad. Mornign upchuck is over here, if I stopped cleaning my teeth altogether it might not happen, but I can't bear that! Another day less to go ....

ChaffinchOfDoom · 05/03/2014 09:24

yup. my prescription is so ruddy weird too.. hope they gave the rotter migraines Wink

livingzuid · 05/03/2014 09:42

Morning all took a promethazine which I was given to sleep instead of my usual sicky tablet and I now feel like a zombie. Still didn't stop me waking at 4am and needing to move to the sofa ad my whole chest and upper body felt so constricted. And the baby was doing these massive kicks! Still that's a good sign Grin

Bit more productive today, just doing a bit of housework and may attempt my yoga dvd. Resting yesterday was fab.

The pram thing terrifies me. We went to have a look at a few and it was all a bit too much for me. How many prams and buggies does the world need?? We're getting ours at the end of April for some reason I just can't think of buying stuff until then. Even at 26+4 I still feel quite detached from it all.

You all sound very organised. Being on a ward urgh hope you don't have to stay too long. Maybe they do that as an incentive to get you out a bit faster! I can't wait to get home with our baby I've skipped the whole birth and post labour thing in my head and just come home with a smiling happy baby Grin

LucindaE · 05/03/2014 09:52

Chaffinch That's disgusting about stealing your glasses. How low can people get? My OH would say 'No Respect'...
Meerka Bossy Mother hen is flapping and clucking wildly. You MUSTN'T consider laying a floor in your current state, or sanding a door. The baby isn't going to comment disapprovingly if it isn't done. Grin. (looks about nervously). At least, I don't think so. Nobody has ever believed me, but mine shouted angrily and pointed in the right direction once when I took a different turn from the usual one. But she was seven months then.

Ijumpalot How are those ketones?
livngzauid Very brave of you about the interviews.
Starry I'm glad friend was so nice.
I hope Everyone is feeling as well as can be expected today?
xx

Ah glad you are both feeling better living and meerka.
I'm still not sleeping well at all, tossing and turning all night. I feel bad because I think its disturbing poor dh's sleep and I think its making him a bit grouchy with me. I've been signed off work for another 2 weeks. I have my booking in appointment on Friday so maybe I will start to remember why I'm going through all this. I keep forgetting im pregnant !
