Lush alcohol free drink!

If you're anything like me and enjoy fruit ciders kopperbergs pear alcohol free cider is amazing! Really refreshing just thought I'd share this!

Ooh I might try that. I didn't even drink much before I got preggers but have been craving a cold Corona with a slice of lime, or a fizzy prosseco.

I've been liking the Feel Good Strawberry daiquiri. Its amazing how its the little things that keep us happy

yy to this. it tastes nice and you can pass it off as real booze if necessary. it got me through several Christmas parties this year before it was time to announce about the baby!!

and I've got some in the cupboard, so I think I might have some now!

I second this! Tesco also sell the alcohol free mixed fruit version if anyone isn't keen on pear!

I just finished one off in a relaxing bath. It's so refreshing and I'm sure it's not half as gassy! I fancied a cider over Xmas but only found this on Sunday night they're not that bad calorie wise either I could easily carry on with them post birth

You are deluded. Alcohol free becks and cider are a poor second to the real thing imo!

Oh no I love love my Becks Blue and really hardly notice a difference. Dh didn't notice last night when he took the wrong one out of the fridge, only after I called him a thieving git did he even check the bottle.

I think I prefer just normal soft drinks to pretending. Getting a bit bored of lime and soda and appletiser now though. I have the occasional small glass of red if I really fancy it.

The trouble with going to pubs etc as a non-drinker is that there is pretty much nothing you can drink that isn't riddled with sugar (giving you a rather unhealthy sugar high and crash) or caffeine (coffee, red bull etc). There's always tomato juice but you don't want to be drinking that all evening! Lime and soda does indeed only get you so far, especially if you can't deal with fizzy drinks like me.

So alcohol-free beer is pretty good. It's relatively non-sugary and doesn't give the crash like fruit juices etc do (and it's presumably better for your teeth too!)

Erdinger is another good one - under 0.5% and doesn't taste far off the real thing.

And sometimes especially in social situations, just having something familiar in your hand that looks and smells and almost tastes like what you'd normally have can give you a bit of a psychological "placebo-effect" boost (e.g. the brain remembers how you were when it had alcohol in!) far more so than a pint of coke ever would.

A pubs I usually do lime soda. At home I tried half apple juice half fizzy water last night, and it was surprisingly lush!

Becks Blue in pubs is OK my OMG IT MAKES ME PEEEEE! In ONeills you can get Cidona which is tasty if you like cider normally. Or I have tonic water and ice on its own.

At home I prefer Bavaria 0% Weizbeir - only from Tesco, comes in little cans. 0%

Yet to find a nice wine substitute - been bought some called Frei from Asda... yet to try it!

I like Becks Blue and Bavaria 0%. I haven't tried the Weizbeir yet but it's on the list!

I'm not a fan of many soft drinks as I find them just too sweet and a lot of juices make me terribly bloated and gassy, so I often end up just drinking plain soda or sparkling mineral water which is ever so boring. I'm very grateful to have found a few decent beer substitutes!

also bitburger drive is very good if you can find it. me and a friend spent most of an evening drinking it in a pub before we realised it was non-alcoholic.

This is good as a wine subsitute if you like bubbles. Gets a bit sweet after a while and is VERY expensive though.

I know! I am off the booze and had it last weekend. Some of my friends preferred it to the wait rose prosecco they were drinking. I found it for 8.96 a bottle elsewhere online. Definitely worth a shot if you are desperate for a glass or two of something.

UGH at the alcohol-free/low alcohol wines. NEVER ever found one that is drinkable, in supermarkets etc at least.

I like the fact they admit that some stuff can be dire - which hopefully means (I have no idea, I've not tried them) that perhaps their stuff is a lot better:

They seem to have a mixed box of stout/dark ales which sounds pretty good - the pregnancy/breastfeeding benefits of Guinness without the alcohol perhaps!!

Although I do cheerfully drink a single mid-strength (2.8%) can of Guinness once or twice a week once out the second trimester, I know that's not for everyone's personal risk levels though!
