I'm 21 weeks and the last 6 months have been horrible, really bad depression, crying every day and letting go of the house, parenting and myself. Finally accepted to be on on meds as I found out I was gp even though they were offered and have now realised I need them! I am worried about taking them during gp though! I am on a 50mg dose of sertraline a day. I've been on these before. I'm not particularly looking for advice or anything, I just wanted to say hi to anyone else that is/has had to medicate during pregnancy. X

I take lithium and just had my dosage increased which made me cry! But it's important for us to not have increased levels of cortisol etc as that is far worse. I'm 21+4 and so far so good! The anti ds will do their job and you will feel so much better :) the risk is very low.

I was offered anti depressants at the start of pregnancy, I refused even though things were bad and should have taken them months before. I was a bit worried but I also know that crying everyday can't be good for the baby either! I feel a bit better just knowing I'm finally taking them. I think I will enquire about counselling as well once I'm feeling a bit better.

I'm 5 wks pg on 150mg of sertraline after undiagnosed postnatal depression & postnatal psychosis. I know it's hard but this is hormones and not you. Hang in there - you are doing the best thing for your baby by getting well!
