Health visitor at 28 weeks pregnant?

Hi
I have had a call from a health visitor asking if she can come and visit. Whilst I'm really happy to meet her before the baby is born 28 weeks seems very early. I didn't see a HV until two weeks after my daughter was born! Is this the new practice? I don't have anything ready for the baby at all yet. Eeek!

I'm 29 weeks and haven't heard any thing about hv but a friend had a visit two weeks ago she's also 29 weeks so seen her at 27 weeks.

Seems quite ealry but not sure.

I'm not sure if it depends on your local area, I'm from north east England middlesbrough :)

I'm Newcastle. Maybe it's a northern thing. Will be nice to meet her anyway!

I know my friends who've just had baby's around 7 months ago didn't have a hv untill after birth.

I guess its a good thing will be able to have a chat with her

Possibley could be a northern thing :)

It is considered good practice to meet women before the birth so they don't have a stranger landing on their f doorstep when they are knackered and hormonal. It actually happening can be pretty rare as they don't often have the time.
