Does anyone know if it is safe to put on your bump? I'm having huge itchiness problems and it was recommended to me by a pharmacist but have tripped across a few articles that say you shouldnt use it - of course, i am panicking now! not due at the doctors till thursday - I'm nearly 37 weeks.
anyone know anything about it?

Aloe vera juice taken internally can have strong purgative/laxative effects so shouldn't be used in pg - is that maybe where the confusion has arisen?

Double check with your pharmacist if you're still not sure but I think you should have no problems just rubbing the gel on your skin.

dh and i went on holiday to fuerteventura about a month ago, and while there we visited an aloe vera farm. according to the people there, its safe to rub it on you in pregnancy and its reccomended to help prevent and fade stretch marks. the stuff we bought is 97% aloe vera and i use it (and im 28 weeks pregnant).

Hi honey - is your itching just on your bump or is it arms and legs, hands and feet? If so, you should go to the doctor because it may need medical attention if your liver is indicated. I'm sure it's nothing sinister but just incase....!

no, the itching is just on the bump, bottom part, i think its probably to do with the lovely stretchmarks that have appeared in the last week or so

the one I've got is 97% as well i think, worked a bit so i think i'll carry on using it till i go to the doctors and then ask. you're right, it was probably the juice that is the problem if taken internally.
thanks for your help everyone.
