Baby shower gift ideas?

Hi everyone,

I'm 29 weeks and haven't managed to organise a single thing for my new arrival (and very little idea where to start making a list). My sister is throwing me a baby shower and has asked for a list of things that I want.

I don't know the baby's sex so clothes are going to be tricky. Does anybody have any suggestions for what I can ask for by way of baby shower gifts? Personally I'd just prefer cash/vouchers so I can buy things in my own time but apparently this is "not cool".

Help please!

Thank you

You can make a baby shower wish list on Amazon, including stuff from other sites. Probably a good way to do it when you do figure out what you want :)

I'd go for toiletries, then if you're worried about tastes that has no bearing! Grin

Also I think it's nice if people can buy useful things, think muslins/cellular blankets etc, as they know you will really appreciate them

A friend was telling me that John Lewis will give you a tour of their baby department, allow you to scan items to create a gift list and you get free coffee&cake. Might be worth doing for ideas?

That sounds lovely ickle i didnt know they did that!
Baby wipes
Nappies
Toiletries
Muslins
Bottles of ur choice

As pp suggests best to get an idea by looking around on internet etc but a baby shower is great way of getting bits you need. which i was having one lol

People (well childless ones anyhow) will want to get u nice or cute things, but would way prefer spend on what u want.
Have a look round-even online and be specific (like video monitor -what brand breast pump/car seat etc)

grow bags/sleeping bags
bouncer/swing
activity mat
breast pump/bottles
baby monitor
car seat if there's any big spenders
Family or baby portrait voucher (ditto)

When my friend had hers, she asked everyone to bring a pack of nappies - which I though was a pretty good idea and one I'll probably go with!

The best baby shower present I got was a Kindle. Amazing for reading while the baby sleeps on you.
