20 weeks and not sleeping :(

I'm 20+5 and this is baby number 3. For the past 4 weeks I have been waking up every 4 hours, I go for a wee and back to sleep. However the last week, it has got a lot worse, I can get to sleep ok, but then wake up every 2 hours or less and struggle to get back to sleep. I woke up 5 times in 8 hours last night and was awake for around 2 hours at one point. I'm struggling! I was suffering from a bit of depression this year and I'm not sure whether the 2 are related, or as a result of the other, but it's making me feel very down and unmotivated. I have a doctors appointment on Friday but wondering if anyone has tips or sympathy to get me through! Last night I put on some Mozart in the bath, had a beautiful lush bath bomb and sat and read for nearly 2 hours before bed and still ended up with a horrible night. TIA. X

Are you sleeping during the day or lying in? Maybe do an activity like swimming or a big walk? I sympathise, definitely think it's a pregnancy thing, I'm 20wks too and struggle to get back to sleep once awake.

sounds dreadful. you must be knackered. i had real trouble in the middle of my second pregnancy. used to wake up in the night would be awake for hours before i could get back to sleep. it got much better in the third trimester though so maybe there's hope for you?
what do you do when you can't get back to sleep? i was told to get up and have a snack and read for 20 mins then get back into bed. it helped stop me lying there getting stressed about not being able to sleep. i'm not sure i got any more sleep but i did feel less stressed about it.

Rarely sleep in the day, and only have lay in at the weekend, but I have been sleeping in until 11! I was thinking about being a bit more active and might go swimming tomorrow. I'm just frustrated because I expected this much nearer the end!

That's a bit of a relief to hear icing, hopefully it won't last throughout the whole pregnancy! I lay in bed the entire time trying to sleep. I'm starting to affect OHs sleep as well now! Oops
