I had a growth scan today as was measuring large for dates. At 22 week scan baby was 50th centile for weight length, head size etc, now 6 weeks later he's at 97th.

Got consultant on Friday to go through it but I'm really worried.

Had GTT today too.

With rapid growth, as you'll know from having had the GTT today, they are concerned about Gestational Diabetes. DD2 shot up from the 50th centile line to the 99th and had excess amniotic fluid and was predicted to be 11lbs at term. My GTT was normal at 34 weeks. In the end as growth kept going up on the fortnightly scans, I was induced at 39 weeks (all very uncomplicated) and DD2 was a relatively petite 9lbs 2oz!

My consultant did say that growth scans are a crude tool for estimating weight especially in late pregnancy, but that he was most interested in the trend between scans, and that I shouldn't worry about individual numbers.

Thanks. I had a growth scan with my dd as I'd been very ill. They predicted a big baby and she was 6lb12 (but long).

This one has vastly increased abd
