Yep I've had this a few times - very disconcerting, no idea what it is or how to avoid it unfortunately

Ligament pain. There was another thread about abdominal pain when sneezing a few weeks ago.

Try to relax when you sneeze, if you are tensed up it'll make it worse.

I just try and make fewer sudden movements and avoid sitting in twisted positions etc and it seems to have gone away.

I have to sit up and forward to sneeze or cough, otherwise I get a sharp stabbing pain in my lower bump. Dr said ligament pain.

Mine's worst when lying asleep at night - if I wake myself up sneezing, the pain is horrendous and the howl/whimper that follows it usually wakes up DP Hmm

Yep I get that too. Tried to 'sneeze quietly' as it was early in the morning so tensed up too much and it ended up hurting my tummy. So I now I just sneeze loudly and relax more!
