Mine hiccuped constantly - 8 times a day some days.

In my experience it's normal - if a bit annoying!

Wuxiapian · 26/01/2014 15:28

My DC2 was the same. Now he's 12 months old and still hiccups quite a bit - especially after giggling!

Meglet · 26/01/2014 15:30

Both the dc's did this. It drove me insane!

No hiccup problems once they were born though. Hicupping on mummys bladder is far more fun Hmm.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 26/01/2014 15:33

Its not just my bladder! Confused
one minute she's trying to hiccup her way out of my bum, the next minute each jerk hits my ribs, then it's right in the middle! I can't stand repetitive stuff. When the other dcs fidget it drives me insane!

Ahh I remember it well now Grin

DS did exactly that too. It was like he became really annoyed with the hiccups too - and would thrash about to move into a different position so they stopped!

TwoThreeFourSix · 26/01/2014 16:02

Yup DS did this and continued after birth too! He had quite severe reflux tho (until 18months) so watch out for that!

Dont panic tho - I also have tons of hiccups and have since a foetus and didnt have reflux...

oohdaddypig · 26/01/2014 16:15

I don't think there is any evidence of reflux linked to hiccups?

My baby who hiccuped way more didnt have reflux.

OP just enjoy them Grin

35 weeks here and for the past few weeks this little one has been getting hiccups up to six times a day so I know exactly how you feel! I don't mind it so much when I'm doing something and I'm active because I don't notice it as much but I'm sure baby times it for when I'm trying to go to sleep! Almost every night for the past two weeks I'll be nodding off and then I feel the hiccups start and it wakes me straight up!

thecakeisalie · 26/01/2014 17:59

So glad it's not just me. This is dc3 and neither of my other two got hiccups this much. I feel really bad for finding it annoying but it's just when I'm trying to concentrate then get distracted by a constant tapping several times a day, poor baby must find it annoying too!

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 26/01/2014 18:04

I had a very hiccupy baby probably about 10 times a day!and did hiccup a lot until about a month a go, he's 6 months.
i used to get the hiccups at least once a day before pregnancy, then during pregnancy I can't remember getting them at all. Think we must take it in turnsGrin
I was also told about watching out for reflux, ds never had it at all, so don't listen to the link as it just makes you worry about something you can't predict or deal with at the moment.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 26/01/2014 19:23

TBH I have no sympathy for the baby! If she's going to drink amniotic fluid whilst standing on her head, what does she expect??!! Hmm Confused Grin
