Has this happened to anyone before? This is my 4th pregnancy, sadly the first baby I lost at 18weeks, but since then I have had two successful pregnancies with two healthy babies. On thursday night I went to A&E as I started to bleed (gushing blood, like fresh red and clots) there was so much blood it was awful. They got me in for an early scan the next morning, I was really thought I had a miscarriage, the scan said everything was fine, baby doing good, they couldn't see why it happened. I explained I had a back ache that came on now and again but they said that could just be normal due to the pregnancy as they couldn't see anything abnormal. so went home and rested, this morning the bleeding had settled was more brown and was only a little bit, bit like period, however the last 15mins I have started to bleed red again not as heavy as the first time, am petrified I haven't experienced anything like this before and I just don't know what to think! Has anyone experienced this can you give me some advice?

This happened to me at 11.6 weeks through to about 24 weeks. So much blood I felt sure every time that there is no way a baby would survive this.

I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage then after the 3rd time told I had a sub chorionic haematoma.

Everything was ok in the end but it's scary :(

Just go and et checked out again. I hope it's all ok x

I had this at 15 weeks. It was really frightening and I was sure I was going to lose the baby. I was taken straight in for a scan from A&E (medical professional relative called in a favour) and all looked fine - heart beating away. The consultant didn't look the least bit concerned and didn't even begin to try and find a reason for it. Just shrugged his shoulders and said it just happens sometimes.
Since then I have seen GP and midwife & both just said that it just happens sometimes and more often than not the cause is never known.
I am 23 weeks now and it hasn't happened since. Hopefully won't again.
One thing they did say which I found quite reassuring was just to remember that it was coming from me and not the baby.
Hope all is fine for you too OP.

I had the same the day after 1st scan, so I must have been around 12 weeks. Loads of fresh blood and went into A and E convinced this was a miscarriage. I had a scan and all was fine, the baby was fine and the bleed was un explained - it just happens sometimes. I am now 36 weeks!

Thanks girls it's so reassuring to know it's more common than I thought!
