Itchy bump

Hi all,

32+4, and over last few days my bump has become a tad itchy. No rash, no redness, possibly made a bit worse by underwear/clothes touching it. Maybe slightly itchy on upper thighs, but absolutely Nowhere else. Anyone else had this? Any suggestions on easing it? I'm assuming its jut skin stretching- using bio oil and palmers oil. Thanks in advance :-)

I think this is very normal, and yes, should be just stretching/skin changing. I use the Waleda stretch mark oil and it seems to relieve 95% of the itching. But every so often I still get it, probably nothing will make it go away completely. However, if you have severe itching, it could be obstetric cholestasis, but I don't think that's terribly common.

I'd let your mw know. Mine said severe itching could be something to do with your liver but that would tend to be on feet and hands. Better safe than sorry though I think

Get it checked out. Obstetric cholestasis causes itching typically in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet but it can happen elsewhere, too. You need a simple blood test and if you have it, you can be given treatment for it too. If blood tests are normal you can try calamine lotion or aloe vera gel which has been cooled in the fridge.

Has indicated onset of stretch marks for me in the past. Verrrrrrrry annoying but they fade

It's not major itching, just noticeable as not had before. I was wondering if it's be the dreaded stretch marks :-(

I'm 32 weeks and noticed my tummy getting more itchy, like you it's not major itching. I just thought it's probably the start of stretch marks! I also have a couple of dry skin patches which I've had since the early stages of pregnancy. I've been using Palmers tummy butter and Sudocrem for the dry skin.
