I'm quite prone to getting cystitis and utis when not pregnant so I'm aware of the signs and symptoms which for me are burning after going to toilet, really really frequent urination and stomach ache which is a bit crampy and uncomfortable. I've managed to escape all pregnancy without one until now. I'm 36 weeks at the moment and am unsure if I have one as my symptoms are different. For the last three nights I've had burning after going to toilet. Only happening at night once I've stopped drinking and the pain subsides so im not left with the cramping stomach ache I usually get. Also I have been going to toilet less than usual. Yesterday I drank loads and didn't go nearly as much. I'm not sure whether utis are different in pregnancy and don't want to risk it spreading to kidneys but at the same time I don't want to waste drs time or take antibiotics unnecessarily. Has anyone else had this?

I wouldn't worry about wasting the doctor's time. That's what they're there for. Best get it checked out - better safe than sorry and all that. I ignored a UTI once and it turned into a kidney infection and a 5 day stay in hospital. Not pleasant!
