Just wondered when people who've suffered from heartburn have done?

I had it bad 9-14 weeks, had a lovely 10 week reprieve and now as I approach the end of second trimester ( now 25 weeks)

For both my pregnancies it started around 25 weeks and steadily got worse the bigger the baby got, more Gaviscon than food ends up being consumed! It's awful, but it does end once that baby is out Shock

I find drinking milk or sparkling mineral water really helps, along with eating smaller meals. Hope this helps!

Apple that's what I feared! Thanks for the tip!

It's so so bad tonight. I've already maxed out the super strength gaviscon.

I got magic pills from the drs. Gaviscon didn't touch it

As it got worse I drank a lot of the thick flavoured milk from Waitrose, plus ice cream, watermelon, tinned pears in the fridge, salads. Plain steamed veg and fish etc usually was fine, and eating early dinner so it has a chance to digest before you lie down. I tried to sleep propped up with more pillows but it just gave me a bad neck.

I never really had it with DC1/DC2/DC3 but got it incredibly badly at 6-7 weeks this time and it never went away (am now 31 weeks) I ended up on omeprazole as they only thing that made any sort of difference. It's got rid of it 95%, and sometimes I try delaying a dose to see if it has gone, but within 6 hours it is back as bad as ever!

I was taking omeprozole, ranitidine at the same time and slept with a Rennie in my mouth every night.

Took the edge off.

Ha ha ha Starlight "took the edge off" Grin
