I'm a bit confused, I'm 38 weeks, the baby is moving a lot tonight. And for the past month iv been feeling like I'm getting cramp in between my legs and at the top of my bum.

The thing that makes me think they arnt braxton hicks is my tummy isn't going hard when I'm getting the cramp? Xxxx

I definitely felt my bump go really hard with BH, it felt very awkward as it didn't sort of, move with me. They sometimes felt like period cramps, or started that way and spread over the bump.

What you're feeling could be a trapped nerve, or SPD. When my contractions were real they felt like period pains.

HTH, and good luck!

BH was like my skin on the bump was being pulled tight.

Contractions started like mild period pain.

Could the baby have dropped and be causing the new pain?

Hey , still getting them like cramp inbetween my legs and bum. I deffo don't feel like my tummy goes tight so probably not braxton hicks.

Yeh the baby's dropped and heads engaged. It's probably just a nerve.

Surprised iv not had BH yet xxxxx

Know the feeling been getting painful braxton hicks since being 32 weeks, I'm now 37 weeks but when I get the braxton hicks I'm also getting what i can only describe as stabbing pains In my lady bits or the baby trying to claw itself out, then my leg sometimes just gives way it's so painful , just want the pregnancy over now as sometimes it's just unbearable :-( x

Mine are not painful at all, but quite uncomfortable and a bit annoying.

They feel a like the baby moving but my bump goes rock hard, especially at the top and slightly "square" shaped.

They often happen when i am sitting in a slightly uncomfortable position or if I need a wee a little bit.

I'm 33 weeks and have been having them since about 28 weeks.

Laurahawk I'm only 28+1 but just wanted to mention that I've got SPD which I'm feeling as groin pain and an unstable pelvis/back which was giving way all the time. I've had four sessions with a chiropractor so far and it really seems to be helping.

I got BH very early and very regularly with DS1 and DS2. My bump went really hard and changed shape - like mrsmugoo said, almost squared shaped. I found them very annoying and uncomfortable. Sometimes I'd have them regularly every few minutes lasting for hours. I'd be ready to cry!! Started having them at 20 weeks with both pregnancies. Both went full term (plus a few days).

Mine feel like the baby has rolled forward and put his/her whole weight onto the front of my bump. More pressure than pain but really uncomfortable.

They kicked off properly about week 28 I think.
