My nipples have been a little sore and today have a burning sensation so bought some nipple cream. 19 weeks tomorrow- normal?

I had this at around 20 weeks especially if I had been outside in the cold. Even if my nipples were well wrapped up I was in agony! I just used to make sure they were moisturised regularly and thankfully it only lasted a few weeks. Nipple cream sounds like a good idea.

Yes - quite a common symptom. I've had it on and off through 3 pregnancies.

KiwiBanana · 26/01/2014 08:48

Yes I've had very sensitive nipples with this one. Bit itchy and sore sometimes.

firstpglivingabroad · 26/01/2014 09:03

mine have been dreadful since 8 weeks and I'm 16 tomorrow. I'm allergic to lanolin so can't use nipple cream either, been plastering with vaseline every morning & evening but not hugely helping. Did discover - in the middle of the night 2 days ago - that the vaseline intensive handcream that I keep next to my bed helps a lot more. The itching woke me up and I couldn't be bothered to go to the bathroom for the vaseline haha.

Oh you have just reminded me of this. It was agony! I used to have to hold my boobs - so whilst I totally sympathise, I think it's normal.

Snowlet · 26/01/2014 14:48

Yes! but it doesn't feel like the sort of thing that a cream would help, it always feels like it's on the inside, if that makes sense? It's been one of my least pleasant symptoms, definitely.

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 26/01/2014 15:05

Cream wouldn't have helped mine either...

KiwiBanana · 26/01/2014 18:36

No cream would help mine either, things like cold hands are the best relief.

Mine r itchy itchy itchy to the point where it feels like im gonna scratch my nipple off (sorry) lol but no burning sensation? It sounds normal to me just another pregnancy symptom.
I have been using nipple cream but i dnt think it helps!?!?!

Beautifulboy1 · 26/01/2014 20:17

I have had this with both my pregnancies, even to the point where I would lift my bra above my boobs when walking to avoid them touching, nipple creams never worked for me, Vasaline all the way! and liberal amounts! also very good for itchy nipples. I have read that cabbage leaves inside your bra can help keep things soothed, let me know if you try it x
