Watching with interest as we are thinking of Babybond Wellbeing/growth scan around 30 weeks

Hi
I had one last Sunday at which point I was 17+3
It was amazing! Paid £79 got 15 minutes of watching him on a big screen, found out he was a him, they did the 3D view but couldn't really see much as he is snuggled right up to the placenta. Will definitely want to go back at 24+ weeks when they said should be able to see him clearer.
Got 5 "normal" scan photos, and one 3D one as part of the price. Bigger than the NHS ones. And looking at other peoples 20 weeks scans, clearer too.
Well worth it, I just couldn't wait 3 more weeks for my 20 week scan to find out the sex.... But seeing him move around was magical.

I had the basic gender scan. It was fine. We had a Saturday appt and took dd with us. Waited over 30 mins which was annoying though.

Can I ask where (roughly) you had your scans I.e. Were they in London/South East/North etc. I'm just wondering if the prices are the same everywhere or vary by region

I had a Baby Bond gender scan at 19+1 after NHS scan couldn't sex the baby and I was so impatient to find out!

Mine was £39 and lasted about 15 mins. It was great. Not only did they sex the baby, but showed us all the body parts and checked all was okay.

Took away 5 b/w prints and a special "it's a girl" picture in a special card.

Am tempted to get the presentation scan once I'm 35 weeks (next Wednesday)...

I'm in Birmingham.

ashtrayheart · 24/01/2014 19:39

I had one at 16 weeks I would highly recommend it Smile

RoseHoney · 24/01/2014 19:39

I did with my eldest, i was 16 weeks exactly and I loved it :) worth every penny. I think it was £80 but this was 5 years ago!

firstbaby01 · 24/01/2014 19:49

Thanks everyone :) Im really looking forward to it but only ever heard about the ones in london that cost 100's. Mines the £79 one too and i cant wait! I really hope we get some good pictures as our NHS ones are not very clear and only just look like a baby because of the angle

Enjoy, first!!

chestnutmare · 24/01/2014 20:01

I've got one booked next Thursday, I'll be 20 + 4. Good to hear the positive stories! Ours is £79 too, think it's the same price everywhere.

mimi74 · 24/01/2014 20:02

Mine was in Preston AlwaysDancing
Enjoy it first !

I'm in Northern Ireland and we paid £120 for a 4d gender scan at 24 weeks as hospital here wouldn't tell you the sex of the baby.
I'm glad I waited until 24weeks as ds was a good bit bigger and more formed so we were able to see so much more.
We took dsd age 5 with us and she loved being able to see her brother before he arrived.
I found the staff really friendly and nice they were lovely with dsd and made a bit of a fuss over her.

MrsCharlieD · 24/01/2014 20:24

I had one done 2 weeks ago when i was 19 weeks. it was a lovely experience, my mum and step dad came as well and we got about a 20 minute view of our son and came away with 6 photos and a usb with a lot more photos on. It was worth every penny. Im in sheffield btw x

I'm in NI too, went to the Belfast Babybond clinic and they were fab - we paid £39 for the JustGender scan, and the sonographer was fantastic, not only checked the gender but also did a mini check-up as I'd had a fall a few hours before the scan and was quite shaken.

She really took her time and it was better than the expensive private clinic I went to for my nuchal translucency scan.

She gave me 3, but baby was being very awkward so she even switched to 3D to get me a better view, even though we didn't pay for that.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 25/01/2014 16:24

Thanks for the link MrsB DH is keen too so I think we will probably book one for around 30 weeks Grin
