I'll just say one thing - proceed with caution when having a trim down there when you bump's too big to see what you're doing Confused

I second that!

Writerwannabe83 · 24/01/2014 10:21

Oh dear. I was planning on facing that hurdle tonight Grin

LastOneDancing · 24/01/2014 10:46

I've been putting it off.
Goodness knows what's happening down there....

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 24/01/2014 10:55

Oh the shame I got DH to give me a trimWink.
That was after I tried and failed and thought I was going to bleed to death Grin.
He even shaved my legs and cut my toe nails, ain't pregnancy glamorous Hmm.

MummyPig24 · 24/01/2014 11:16

I tried it last night. Can't see a bloody thing, it was about twenty minutes of contorting myself into unnatural positions and huffing and puffing before I gave up!

dats · 24/01/2014 12:18

Down where? I'd forgotten it even existed, tbh...Grin

mrsmugoo · 24/01/2014 12:44

Oh dear... this is why i take myself off for a wax every 6 weeks.

Although according to MN I am just trying to model myself on a porn star or pre-pubescent girl Hmm

Snobble · 24/01/2014 12:49

I had to warn my DH about mine as i couldnt see what i was doing

Cupcake11 · 24/01/2014 12:57

Glad it's not just me! I do get waxed too but just a little tidy up - won't put myself through anything more at the moment!

I attempted it at about 32 weeks but didnt bother after that. It was too much effort and i knew i wouldnt care when in labour as its never going to look good with a head coming out of it. I was right....as soon as i got the the birthing unit and was in a room, i striped naked and could have had anyone in there staring at my untidy downstairs and it wouldnt have bothered me at all. I even had surgery for a tear and the surgeon didnt seem bothered with his face stuck in between my legs.
Only bother if it really matters to you and dont injure yourself!

MummyPig24 · 24/01/2014 15:06

I haven't been brave enough to wax before and I don think pregnancy is the best time to start. Especially as another pregnant lady I know had a wax before Xmas with disasterous results, bruising and all sorts!

I would prefer to be tidy at the time of birth to combat any "matting" problems if you get what I mean. Urgh.

Surprisethird · 24/01/2014 19:04

I got my Dh to do mine with my first pregnancy as I had a c-section planned, I remember lying on the living room floor, him comfortable nestled between my legs, with a bikini shaver, his tongue stuck to the side while he concentrated! Bearing in mind I could not see what he had done. We went for my c-section the next day, they explained they was going to shave me a bit, the gentleman who was doing it said"looks like someone's been here before me, it's like a piece of art work down here! " god know what he did but it impressed them all lol x

Wuxiapian · 24/01/2014 19:47

I managed to tackle my bits in 1st 2 pregnancies without any trouble, but am now 34 weeks and trimming blind, so to speak. ..

SweetPea86 · 24/01/2014 20:39

I had this last night lol had to hold a mirror to see how embarrassing lol.

Felt like a seal rolling around in the bath trying to trim,

Word of advice just don't leave it weeks like I did hahaha more trimming, I need to keep on top of it.

This post has just made my day as I got out the bath crying lol

Writerwannabe83 · 24/01/2014 22:09

I've just got out the bath and I survived Smile

Before getting in the bath I stood there with a pair of scissors in my hands with the intention of starting with a quick trim but I couldn't bring myself to do it!! I knew I'd end up cutting one of my labia off or something Grin I decided instead to just get in the bath with a razor, do it blind and hope for the best!! It certainly feels tidier down there but I couldn't bring myself to look in the mirror, I'd rather live in ignorance if it actually looks ridiculous Grin

livingzuid · 24/01/2014 22:13

Dh had to give me a trim Blush then I made it to my waxist and it was so sensitive! May have to make do till after the birth sigh.

livingzuid · 24/01/2014 22:13

Oh he had to use his clippers, the shame....

spiderlight · 24/01/2014 22:16

Bits of me have actually just crawled back inside at the mere thought of this!!!

MummyPig24 · 25/01/2014 08:20

I managed to do it. I had to space it out over two nights though! I just need to keep on top of it now so it doesn't get out of control before d day.

Legalbaby79 · 25/01/2014 09:22

I balanced a mirror on the toilet and did a slight backbend to get there .... Can you use hair removal cream ?!?!?

Cupcake11 · 25/01/2014 09:35

Update: I was informed by a friend last night of a bikini trimmer. Impossible to cut yourself and cuts to the correct length without any danger. Hurray! Anyone tried one?
