How did you feel after your whooping cough vac?

Hi All,
Just curious really, I am 31 weeks and had my whooping cough vac yesterday. I struggled to get out of bed this morning as was exhausted and my whole body aches :c( This is not usual for me. My nose is bunged and I have had a slight headache since 4am. Is this the after effect of the vac? Am at work and feel like I could sleep for the next week.

Like shit in a nutshell. Not the day after but the day after that i felt awful all day. But then the day after that (iyswim) was fine again :-)

I had mine Tuesday, and I haven't felt any more shit/tired than usual.

My arm really bloody hurts at the injection site tho- far more than I'd expect.

bebopanddoowop · 23/01/2014 10:03

I've got mine this afternoon so will let you know! Nervous now - I don't have time to be ill Confused

blacklily3 · 23/01/2014 10:09

Don't worry bebo - I am at work and am not that rough lol - just a little worse for wear than usual :c) It's a tiny needle and didn't hurt at all, over in 2 secs. I don't have a redm ark or raised bump or anything (at the mo) however I accidently knocked arm against door frame and realised it hurts a little (but only when I poke and prod so not doing that lol). Starting to feel lots better now, however I did need a coffee to get me going this morning :c)

I felt fine after, but my arm was sore, lumped up, red & itchy for about 10 days after!

MabelBee · 23/01/2014 10:13

I had no after effects. No pain or illness. Not boasting, but just to reassure those who have yet to have their shot that it doesn't necessarily guarantee any adverse reactions!

Writerwannabe83 · 23/01/2014 10:18

I had no after effects and was absolutely fine.

My arm was really sore though - far worse than it had been when I'd had my flu jab. Ouchies!!!

ShadowFall · 23/01/2014 10:49

My arm was very sore - I had to sleep on my other side for a few days, as the vaccinated arm was too sore to lie on - but other than that, no after effects.

Mummytobe2014 · 23/01/2014 11:28

My arm was a little sore but they tell you that it could be and is no different to when you have flu jab etc but other than that i was fine, no side effects at all.

Shellywelly1973 · 23/01/2014 11:32

I had a sore arm for a day or two.

Otherwise i was totally fine.

CrispyFB · 23/01/2014 12:00

I was fine albeit with a sore arm. But everybody is different. I seem to recall having less energy in the coming days but no illness.

Cariad007 · 23/01/2014 12:05

I felt fine but my arm was very sore for a good 3 days after, unlike the flu jab which I had no reaction to at all.

Janem001 · 23/01/2014 15:44

I was awful after mine. My arm was massively swollen and blistered and I felt likr crap for a week. Actually ended up on penicillin and antihistamines to clear up an infection.

FoxMulder · 23/01/2014 16:16

I was also really shattered but I had attributed that to being back at work after Christmas!

bebopanddoowop · 23/01/2014 19:53

This afternoons jab was fine. I haven't had any bad reactions so far Smile

blacklily3 · 23/01/2014 22:47

Sure you won't bebop :c) I am all back to normal now and just looking forward to a good nights sleep.
