I usually do my sample before leaving the house.

So long as the pot is clean I don't see why not. If its not suitable they'll just ask you to do another.

MrsCakesPremonition · 23/01/2014 09:13

It is fine, so long as the pot is really clean.

I don't really understand. Are you asking if you can do your sample at home & take it with you so you don't have to do it at the doctors? If you've got something clean to do it in I can't see this being a problem. I was always given a tube to bring back with a sample for the next appt.
I was always paranoid about the sample leaking so popping it in a sandwich bag as well wouldn't be a bad idea. Hope your appt goes well.

I always do mine first thing in morn as i cant pee on demand lol and morning seems to be best, they have never had an issue with it and i get given a clean pot each time.

Jenbee1 · 23/01/2014 13:43

MF asked me to pee on demand and i couldn't, even after downing over a pint of water, so she gave me a pot and said perhaps it would be best if you bring it with you next time. I'm sure you'll be fine if you take a sample with you.

My midwife said to use fmu so I fill my pot when I get up. Just make sure you screw the lid on tight as I have heard of samples leaking in handbags. I put my pot in a sealable plastic bag as a precaution.

At this appointment ask your MW to give you a proper tube for next time

Spaghettinetti · 24/01/2014 10:22

I was given about 6 tubes by the receptionist last time I went to the doctors. It's always good to have a stash. You'll be needing a lot of them!
