You mean the booking in appointment? You have to do a wee sample, they take your blood, weight and blood pressure and they go through yours and your DH's medical history. They give you your maternity notes and tell you who to phone if you need to. That's about it. Takes a little while.

Okay thank you xx

How many weeks are you? Assuming about 8+ then it's the booking appointment probably and what Pobble said.

Mine says between 8-10 weeks is ideal.

I had my appointment at 10+6 but I didn't arrange it myself, the hospital sent out times for booking and scan

PuppyMummy · 23/01/2014 06:51

I had my booking apt at 7 weeks. I got my notes, they did blood pressure, weight and asked a million questions.

no blood or wee needed that was later!

Alexchallex · 23/01/2014 11:47

They have changed things recently and now take blood at your first midwife appointment. As well as urine, blood pressure and endless questions

PenguinsDontEatKale · 23/01/2014 11:59

That depends on your area actually Alex. In my old area they took bloods at booking, but where I live now they send you down to phlebotomy after your 12 week scan and take them then.

penguins yes! thats where and when I had my blood done then midwife discussed results at my 16wk appt.
