Perineum keeps tearing during sex whilst pregnant??

I'm pregnant with DC2, DC1's birth was forceps, large episiotomy and 2nd degree tear. Took 6 months to heal and loads of scar tissue and now have slightly deficient perineum. Now pregnant with DC2 and only since being pregnant when we have sex its really painful at the entrance where had the tear and feels like it is tearing (can see tiny red tear), also keep getting thrush (just itching no discharge) but it burns when I use the cream. Any ideas if this is just a normal pregnancy side effect?? Or does it need some kind of medical checking? Am concerned that since its tearing with sex that childbirth is just going to rip it to shreds?? Sorry that’s not the best terminology...
Any ideas greatly appreciated, thank you.

It might not be thrush but some other skin infection. I'd go to the GP.

That sounds really painful!

Go to your G.P ASAP. No one should have to endure what you are.

Best of luck. x

My episiotomy aches now I'm pg again, but it often ached during AF, I think it's to do with increased blood flow to the area, but aching is not unbearable and isn't interfering with anything.

I would go to GP if I were you. Good luck.

Would ask to see the consultant you are under for pregnancy. They may offer you a Caesarian section?? I wouldn't rely on the gp alone.

Not sure if this is totally relevant to what you are experiencing (as it's only just started to happen) but I have a condition called lichen Sclerosus which means that my perenium doesn't stretch, just tears, always has ever since I became sexually active at 18. I've had 2 operations to make the area bigger, eventually the skin just grows back. And Also a repair from all of the scar tissue, I have also undergone Physio and now have to use dilators before sex. it will tear every time I have sex, tampons are a definite NO as are speculums and at its worst just getting up too quick from a chair will do it. When I had my first op at 19 my surgeon said that I could never have children naturally and would always need a c section as the damage it would cause would be irreparable for me. I had a c section with my son 8 years ago and have another one booked for this one. This condition is very uncommon in younger people, more Common with people going through menopause as your skin consistency sometimes changes then, could be your hormones basically. There's some steroid cream that they can give you to thicken up then area which can work well (didn't for me but I've always had it!) - would be worth speaking to your GP anyway x

Thanks for all your responses. I can't see the lady GP until Friday, should be ok to wait until then I guess? There was a tiny bit of blood this morning but I think its probably from irritation.
Emberlina, that sounds awful, you poor thing.
