Can anyone recommend anything to stop my bump itching? I've been using the sanctuary mum-to-be body cream since about 16 weeks and then bio oil for the last few weeks (I'm nearly 37 weeks) but the itching underneath my tummy button over the last few days is driving me crazy and the constant scratching has earned me some very strange looks when I've been out!!

any ideas anyone?

Have you checked its not something more serious (not meaning to worry you) but itching can be bad if its severe?

I was like that as well. I think it stopped...er, after the baby was born. Sorry!

E45 itch relief cream. Eurax cream is great for itching but it says it's not recommended for use in pg so you could check with your dr about that one. Do you have a rash down there? (I ask because I developed pregnancy-related urticaria (PUPPP) towards the end).

didnt know itching could be more serious - not due at the doctors till thursday but will definitely ask then.

will try the E45 cream on monday. dont seem to have rash - struggling to see to honest and dh not much help - think my newly appeared stretch marks have put him off

I have really itchy bump to and have found aqueous cream helps especially if you keep in in the fridge because it's soooo cold - instant relief!! Checked with midwife and she said it all goes back to normal once the baby's born (great - only 10 weeks to go....)

Itching in pg can be a symptom of a serious condition called obstetric cholestasis , but the itching is usually predominantly on the soles of the feet and palms of the hands, and there is no rash. Its def worth mentioning the itching at your appointment but it's most likely to be nothing to worry about.
