Doctor has prescribed me antibiotics, Cefalexin has anyone taken them during pregnancy, she said they were safe but the insert suggests not :-/
So paranoid!

Yep,I had two courses of them from 16 weeks in my last pregnancy before having to take one a day from 29weeks after being hospitalised for a UTI that had spread to my kidney. My DS was completely unaffected!
About to start my second course at 19 weeks in my second pregnancy and expect I will soon be on a daily dose. Hopefully you will just need one
course.

flickstar thank you for your reply, and putting my mind at rest, I am sorry to hear you've had such a rough time :(

I've had a similar problem to flickstar, just starting on my daily dose after several failed weekly courses going back to when I was only 4 weeks pregnant (18 weeks atm). The consultant has assured me that while there are some low risks associated with ABs it's far riskier to leave the infection so I just have to trust him. I hate having to take them though.

I had a UTI at 11 weeks and took amoxicillin before being prescribed cefalexin at 12 weeks. I checked with NHS direct and they assured me that it was fine.
