Hi, I wanted to get my sis a pregnancy present. A massage seems like a good idea, but I have no idea where to go. I am not that familiar with london, she lives in south west London, I can't really find any day spa's in that area, Amida in Chelsea, Is this any good, seems to be only about 20 mins away from her according to google maps, but I am completely clueless when it comes to London!! I've seen great reviews of the Elemis spa in Mayfair, and I would love to send her there, but I'm thinking that may be a bit too far away...I want this to be relaxing for her, not an ordeal!! Any suggestions would be great. Do you think I should just go with the Elemis day spa Mayfair, which I've heard is good, or should I get something a little closer to her.....decisions decisions!! Any help would be great, Thanks

It really depends where in SW London she is. But Mayfair is very easily accessible.
Another good option is the Sanctuary in Covent Garden.
If she is near Wimbledon or Richmond I'm sure there would be some nice ones near there too.

She is between Surbiton and Kingston . I did think of the sanctuary but when I had finally decided on it, found out the voucher would only be valid until the 31st of May as it's closing down, and I was just afraid she might not have used it by then. Looks like she's not too far from either Wimbledon or Richmond so will look in to it. Thanks for your help!

The Elemis Spa, Mayfair? They do mother to be treatments. I've not had one, but I have had a different massage there and I can say that the whole experience from start to finish was amazing and I highly recommend.

Hi Sheedac

What a thoughtful thing to do - I'm sure your sister will appreciate it.

Just a thought but she may prefer somewhere closer to home, particularly if she will travel there and back on public transport - the 'back to reality' feeling can hit hard when you're all warm and relaxed (and possibly a little oily!) and have an hour on a train home.

There is a Clarins spa in John Lewis in Kingston which may be worth a look. Wimbledon and Richmond are also likely to be happy hunting grounds for decent spas, including smaller independent ones.

Of course as it's a rare treat she may be thrilled by the whole posh hotel experience, in which case ignore me!

Hi OP, that's a lovely idea.

I'm not in London so can't give you any names, but I've been seeing a doula for pregnancy massage and it's bliss (and I always sleep well that night, which is a huge bonus). Not all doulas do this but I think many do, so it might be worth a look - there's bound to be someone not too far from your sister.
