Pink/brown mucous

Hi,
After a bit of reassurance please!
I am 7 weeks with DC2, yesterday and today I have been getting light pink and sometimes brown mucous when I wipe.
Yesterday there was a little streak of blood.

No pain other than minor twinges and aches.

I spoke to OOH GP who was quite vague and said to call back if I get more bleeding.

Can this be normal? Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

It's pretty common to have left over period blood sort of leaking out with mucus. It can be completely normal and nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately, and I'm sorry to say this, it can be a sign of miscarriage.

The nhs may be willing to give you a scan at 8 weeks, or you can get them done privately. That's the only way to really be sure. Otherwise, you can just wait and see if there's more bleeding.

The waiting to see what happens can be very stressful, take cafe of yourself, and I hope it turns out ok.

Thanks vatta its hard to wait!
If it carries on I will try and see about a scan.

I had this at 6+4 so was scanned by EPU at 8 weeks and everything was fine. They said it was likely to be an implantation bleed.

Now have a healthy 3 week old :)

I had this. Was sent for early scan. Currently sat watching for him to wake up in car.

I had this, phoned up NHS 24, they told me to call back if it got worse, I did (it didn't really get worse but I won't be fobbed off when it comes to this) went to A&E and was sent for an early scan on Monday. Wasn't prepared for them telling me I was expecting twins!

I've still had the brown/pink mucus occasionally but it's been a lot lighter since I had the scan and was told everything was fine.

I'd advise you to keep calling your GP. The more noise you make, the more they'll pay attention.

Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine :)

Thanks dusty and chazza that's reassuring.

I hope its not a sign of twins twinnymum!

I am still getting the mucous, but no signs of blood.
I think I will try to speak to a midwife tomorrow and see what they advise. Pregnancy is such a stressful time! Over analysing everything! I am not like this normally!

I had this at 6 weeks and also 9 weeks. Freaked me out as I didn't have it with my first pregnancy. Was all fine though x
