Have only just found out about these. Am 38+6 so getting close to my due date. Is it too late to get any beneficial effect, do you think? Be useful to hear other's experiences...

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've read the tea only helps/speeds up the second stage of delivery. hope that helps a little

gemmaj66 · 19/01/2014 14:26

I drank the tea with DC2 from about 34 weeks and had a very easy second stage. He was 10lb 11oz and I pushed him out in ten minutes. That's allowing time for him to get briefly stuck at the shoulders as well!

I was going to take the capsules this time as I don't much like the tea!

I don't think you're too late MrsPat as a lot of the advice seems to suggest you shouldn't take them before 37 weeks anyway. I'm 37+ and planning to pick some up this week.

just for future ref (end of june as due start of July) where do you get the tea? is it just twinings raspberry tea?

Rockchick1984 · 19/01/2014 18:35

It needs to be raspberry leaf tea not raspberry tea, I buy the one made by Clipper (cheapest place to buy is tesco, can also get on amazon).

ok. does that mean raspberry tea would be safe to take any time during pregnancy then? trying to keep caffeine to a minimum, getting it from my secret addiction to creme eggs every other day lol

I bought some raspberry leaf capsules last Saturday. Took one on Saturday afternoon and my waters broke at midnight! Either it's a coincidence or these things are waaaay powerful!

They say to start at 37 weeks so you're just in time.

Too late now - our son arrived on Sunday lunchtime! Grin
