Tummy muscles

I'm 36+1 and have had the cough from hell for the past few days. Just when I thought things couldn't get much worse I have done some major damage through coughing to my tummy muscles on the left of my bump. That can't harm the baby right? I don't need to get it checked out? All as a result of not being able to take anything to make it any better! Saw the GP who has given me penicillin but isn't sure it's bacterial.

It wont harm the baby, but have it checked nonetheless. It's probably a muscle strain, but any pain in that area, at your stage should be reported and assessed. Are you sure it is the abdominal muscle and not the rib? I am asking because my sister damaged her rib when she had bronchitis last year.
When pregnant with DS2 I had a vey bad cough for weeks, and in the end my GP gave me a natural cough syrup which is safe in pregnancy. Stodal. Maybe ask your GP to check if it may be any good for you.
