Disgusted by my weight gain

I put on 3stone last time and lost it very quickly but I won't be lucky twice especially at the rate I'm gaining now. It's gross. My body is gross.

I'm only 26+4 and put on about 24lbs. Weigh 10stone now. Gross. And with the expected 2lb a week weight gain from now til the end I'm looking at about 4stone weight gain.

My body is disgusting. Huge bump, massive boobs. Hate it. Every other pregnant person I know is tiny. I look overdue, not someone with a good 13 weeks left.

Did you feel the same in your first pregnancy?

Tea1Sugar · 19/01/2014 13:15

Yeh horrendous. Which is why I lost the weight after so quickly. All 3 stone of pregnancy weight plus an extra 10lbs all lost within about 10 weeks. That then took me to 7.5st and very underweight. After about a year my weight plateaued back at 8st 4lbs which is normal for me.

Do you look at other pregnant women and think they look fat, gross and disgusting??? Or is it just something you feel about yourself?? It sounds like you have quite severe hang-ups about your weight?

SaucyJack · 19/01/2014 18:23

I don't really know exactly how much weight I've put on so far- and nor do I care. I'm only bigger in the areas that are supposed to get bigger- legs, arms, arse etc all look the same. Which is all well and healthy by me.

Seeing as you already have body dismorphia I think it would be a really good idea to discuss how you are feeling with a midwife and maybe even asking for some additional support.

I'm sure most pregnant women have felt strange and uncomfortable with their new body and shape and I think this is probably OK provided that it's balanced with some of the other feelings that writer is talking about.
