Fecking piles!

I'm 30 weeks and in the last couple of weeks have developed the most horrendous piles! Sooo fed up with them already, luckily I'm not (currently) constipated but they are so sore, and itchy! Confused

If I didn't already feel totally unsexy I have to say they have definitely done the job. Been using Anusol but they are no better. Am I stuck with them for the next ten weeks (or more)? Also the thought of labour and all that pushing.... Shock

Help!!

Can't help too much but you have my sympathy! I find sudocreme the best thing. Plus I use antihistamines but someone on here told me I was dooooooming my baby with them (I obv still use them, dr said it was fine!).
And avoid hot baths. And prune juice if constipated. Lovely huh

Prepare for the postnatal period with lots of heamorroidcream and suppositories and take lactulose or movicol preventively if you don't start going normally be second day after delivery.... Keep lots of lovely cool things in your fridge/freezer, like a bag of frozen peas that you can use to soothe your derriere. You can also use cold KY jelly or similar on your bum to calm the pain and itching.

I bet all that sounded very glamorous, didn't it?

Hi OP, you do have my sympathies. Unfortunately I would guess you will likely be stuck with them (although they may get better) but labour will probably bring them back or make them worse. Confused I'd say try to prevent to constipation by drinking lots of water & keeping your fibre intake high!

& as to feeling not so sexy cos of the piles - well if DP plans on being your birthing partner he's going to see much worse so I'd try to get over the piles & enjoy some sex now before labour ruins that for several weeks (err maybe months...)

Congrats & good luck!

*Congrats on the pregnancy not the piles. Obvs.
