More nervous on #2?

Due baby #2 very soon and I'm finding myself wracked with anxiety. I never had this on my first I was so confident that everything would go well and that I would know what to do with baby and it all went really well.
I don't understand why I'm getting so stressed this time? Anyone any similar experience

YEP. I'm much better than I was. The 20 week scan helped alot. But I do feel like it's all coming really quickly & there is so much to organise & so little time.

Me too!! I was great with first Babba, this time with number 2 I have been awful! Suffered really bad anxiety and panic attacks!! I'm worrying about everything!!!!!

So glad I'm not alone!

Oh yes I'm so much worse with dc2. I'm only 13 weeks and I really need to calm down! Feels like a long wait until the next scan.

I'm on #3 now and thought I would be very chilled out this time. That couldn't be further from the truth. I've had this horrible pushing my luck feeling right from the start, I feel like we couldn't possibly be lucky enough for another healthy baby or straight forward pregnancy and labour!

I'm 30 weeks now and the feeling is still there at the back of my mind. I think it's normal to worry more in subsequent pregnancies because your more aware of what could go wrong. As the saying goes ignorance is bliss! I guess we just have to stay positive and take each day at a time.

I was blissfully ignorant the first time round and thought optimism and determination would get me through. Ha ha ha ha ha!
This time I'm more aware of what could happen and not to pin all my hopes on a drug free, straightforward labour.
Despite this I can't help pinning my hopes on the idea that most second labours are easier....

With babies 1&2 I had no worries

However I was fairly young and didn't know anyone really who bad things had happened too re pregnancy birth etc

When pregnant with dc3 at 25yrs old I was much more a worrier which I do put down to knowing more about other peoples experiences

I'm 6+4 weeks pregnant with my second, and much more nervous this time around. With DS, I just kind of naively assumed everything would be okay, and it was. But I had a chemical pregnancy the cycle before getting pregnant this time, which has made me anxious. I'm paying for a private early scan at eight weeks, and am almost wishing away the time until then.

Tea1Sugar · 18/01/2014 15:00

With dd1 I was fine, totally chilled through my pregnancy. I'm now 26+4 with dd2 and bricking it!

sebsmummy1 · 18/01/2014 15:06

Oh yes. Only 4 weeks pregnant with my second. With my first he was a beautiful surprise and I was totally ignorant of any problems and sailed through the pregnancy no probs. this time we tried to conceive for seven months, eventually succeeded and I am now terrified of losing it.

Ilovekittyelise · 18/01/2014 15:13

yes. nearly 38 weeks with number 2. scared of birth, scared something will be wrong, scared of going into labour but shouldnt be as im obviously going to be pregnant forever and none of these things will happen
