Hi all,
I'm new and looking for a little advice. I'm 10w5d and one of the children in my school kicked me in the groin about 45mins ago. Other than the obvious pain of having been recently kicked everything feels ok, but I guess I'm just a little worried. This is my first pregnancy and the internet seems to be full of stories designed to make me panic.
Any advice as to what I should do?
Thanks in advance

Ouch poor you!! I think groin will be okay, maybe just ring midwife/doctor as a precaution to put your mind at rest? If they're at all worried they can book you in for an early scan Smile

I got a dig in the stomach (from a drunk person, grrrrr) at 10 weeks.
I'm 18 weeks now and had no issues. Getting a kick in the groin is less serious though, the baby is nowhere near that really.

If you think about it, women with lots of young kids get a real lashing about!

i dont think you have anything to worry about at all- if you start to bleed (which you wont) then call the hospital and go in for a scan.

At 10 weeks the uterus is still in the pelvis and really well protected - very unlikely to have done any damage at all.

Should be fine. My 13 mth old DD has been using me as a human climbing frame & punch/kick bag from the word go. I'm 30 weeks and everything is fine. As other posters say, keep an eye out for pain/bleeding and contact your midwife or GP if you are concerned.

Thank you so much. I think I was just a little shaken. Have spoken to Management and things are in place to prevent anything like this happening again.

I'll keep an eye out and see how I am. I'm just a bit paranoid atm where the pregnancy is concerned.

Thank you again

You will be fine honestly Smile

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and I have a very boisterous 2yo. I have been kicked, trodden on, jumped on and wrestled with most days.. babies are very well protected. Don't worry.

Cloudengel it's completely understandable that you are so nervous, especially on your first. I was the same. Better to be safe than sorry.

peeapod · 17/01/2014 17:12

I had a similar one with my cat. my best reassurance is that I hope your 12w scan isnt far away #which will really put your mind at rest..

I agree with Feelingfatty, give your midwife/GP a call to put your mind at rest. The chances are everything will be fine.

The other reason I would say go to the GP is because it happened at work, and this incident needs to be formally noted. If there is any injury at all to you, then it needs to be properly checked out so that you can notify your work health and safety about it.
