When did you start to slow down?

So I'm 30 weeks tomorrow with dc3 and so far I've refused to let being pregnant slow me down too much. With 2 kids under 5 already I just can't afford to start slowing down as the kids don't understand so still expect the same treatment, we'd end up with no clean clothes and the house would be a constant mess!

So far that's been fine apart from the usual sore hips (which I've had in previous two pregnancies) but the last couple of days I just haven't been able to carry on as normal. When I've been doing housework I've been getting a strong pain come on suddenly throughout my pelvis and down my left leg (nothing like a contraction though). Also today I've had a lot more braxton hicks and they've been so uncomfortable I've had to stop what I'm doing. Now got a bit of an ache in my bump similar to period pain but I'm fairly sure it's not actual contractions.

I'm thinking it's probably my body telling me to slow down a bit but it still feels too soon to be slowing down. I'm wondering if I have unrealistic expectations this time round?! With my other two I was able to nap and rest during the day but ds2 doesn't nap any more so I don't really get any downtime until the kids bedtime. So when did you find you had to start taking it a little easier?

Might be your body's way if telling you to slow down, just a bit (I know easier said than done). When I was pregnant with DC1 I carried on as normal right up to birth really but this time around (17 weeks) I've had bleeding with two large bleeds resulting in hospital so have had no choice but to slow down a lot and have been on bed rest for several weeks. Very very hard for someone like me who is always on the go and self reliant but sometimes you just HAVE to slow down! Can your DP/DH or any other family members help a little more with your DC to allow even half an hour this weekend to rest up a bit?
