with my first i was induced just after 39 weeks and wasshowing no signs of being anywhere near despite wasting a bloody fortune on acupuncture, sticking minging things up me, rubbing minging things on me and so on .

my mums 4 children were all born between 42 & 44 weeks (and all the labours were long).

have you followed similar patterns in terms of gestation, and length of labour?

Mum - c section with me (only child) went into labour at 39 weeks but failed to progress.

Me - DS on his due date, fast labour, no problems.

So no, nothing like each other!

Nope, me and my db were both nearly 2 weeks overdue.

My dd was born the day after her due date.

And in terms of length. My mum was in labour with me for several days, and for 24 hours with my db.

I was in active labour with dd for 1 hour!

I thought you meant had i had a baby on the same day as my mum had one!

Me too SillyBilly. Quite disappointed now, could have been a real Jeremy Kyle-thread.

My mum was 6 weeks early with my big sister, then over 2 weeks late with both me and my little sister.
I was 3 days over with DS (though may have accidentally induced labour by carrying suitcase full of clothes up to the loft in mad nesting fever)

Yup!! I was born on my due date and I had my daughter on her due date!! Midwives were quite shocked by this! We both had forceps deliveries too but I'm not sure about anything else similar.

sorry to disappoint silly & occams; that can be found on the thread "happy 30th birthday grandma" lol.

I was 3 days late, forceps delivery after a 24 hr labour - 7lb 15

Dd was 2 days late, born by emcs after a 38 hr labour - 7lb 15

My little brother was induced at 42 + 4 (!) - 12 hr labour - 10lbs.

I'm currently pg with a boy - induction is out due to previous cs & I'm really hoping for a vbac so very much hoping that a) he comes earlier than my brother did and b) weighs less than 10lbs!

Wishfulmakeupping · 17/01/2014 08:15

My mum had me at 38 weeks and had my sis at 42 weeks.
I had dd at 39 weeks and my sis had dn at 36 weeks

I'm hoping I don't follow in my mothers or sisters footsteps. My mum was induced for all 3 of us at 42 weeks, all of us were over 9lbs (I was 9lb12) and my mums only 5'2" and petite! My sister was induced at 42 weeks and ended up with emcs with first and had elective cs with 2nd at 38 weeks and both were 10lbs7! Desperately do not want a cs though as had to have my appendix out at 26 weeks which left me with a 7" scar and been told that it might be tricky to do cs and they may have to do a vertical incision so I'll be left looking like a patchwork quilt!
I'm currently 38+3 so will let you know.
